    8.3 Liter LS-x Engine Anyone?

actually it won't directly bolt up to anything that came with a buick, olds, pontiac, or caddilac engine. GM used a different bellhousing pattern on the chevy engines.

    Furniture from closeout stores

anything I've ever bought from big lots has been junk... now I've bought a ton of stuff from Marden's which is a Maine based closeout type place.. alot of the stuff is very high quality and some of it, just like BL, is junk..

    circuit braker replacement as PM???

yeah, breakers do wear out.. changing them is pretty easy (at least for ITE or Square D ones).. you just pull out on the outer edge (the side where the wire comes of), then unhook the inner side, then you unscrew the wire (I do it hot, but you can kill all power if you want). installation is the...

    Auto Insurance

Allstate is the one w/ accident forgiveness.. I've had State farm for years and use a number of their products.. I even had an at fault accident this summer and my rates didn't go up. I think I pay $25/mo for my 88 pickup with 100k/300k limits (it was like $1 more a month over the state minimum...

my 19 year old truck wasnt happy starting at -1F this morning... I guess it's the high volume oil pump and the 10w30.... 5w40 HDEO may be in it's future.

    Recommend a home generator

At work we've got a Porter Cable 5500W unit that we paid $750 for brand new.. it doesn't have an idle-down feature, but because of that it's got a 9kw surge rating. It has been far and away more reliable than the $2500 Honda EB5000 that it replaced and also uses less fuel. I'd reccomend it to...

    Attention, people of Massachusetts

I've had the same problem recently... I've been having bill collectors calling for a woman named Michelle to my company cell phone. they've pretty much quit calling after I pretty much flipped out 4 or 5 times on the person on the phone.

    Billiards, anyone?

are you talking billiards or pool? it's my understanding (which I may be wrong) that the tables are different for each. Personally, I like going to the local pool hall... going there tonight actually.

Best value 12-14.4 volt cordless drill

Never used the Rigid, but I've been pleased with my 3 speed 14.4v dewalt. I've had it for about 4 years now and have beaten the #@$%! out of it.. I had to replace the original plastic wrapped chuck with the later all metal one and I also had to replace the speed control after a 25ft drop. so if...

    Chinese Food I Hate It

I'd have to agree.. back in college I had a cantonese roomate. he always went on about "fake american chinese food" and the #@$%! he ate was nothing like you'd get in any restaurant.

    Taco Bell

I think you're underestimating most people... taco bell is fast food, plain and simple... kind of like comparing a Big Mac to a Smokehouse burger from Ruby Tuesday's.. same genre, different class.

    Cordless impact wrenches

driving screws, yes...tightening bolts, yes.... drilling, no.

    Cordless impact wrenches

they're impacts, so they don't work like that... a regular drill relies on the raw torque of the motor to get the job done. an impact's motor spins a hammer (or hammers) that strike an anvil, which then transmits force to the fastener. you don't actually have to try and hold the 90 or so ft/lbs...

    Cordless impact wrenches

let's clarify some terms... alot of people use the 1/4" hex impact DRIVER. I have one, a 14.4V dewalt.. it will drive screws impressively, but I did have to replace the motor (they use a canned motor, no replacable brushes) recently after 2 years of use. the 18V dewalt isn't worth the extra $40...

    Best Hydraulic Jack

what you want is a "long frame" floor jack. you'll have to look to Snap-On, Mac, OTC or similar. keep in mind they're also very expensive. (~$500+) I love my hein-werner long frame jack. it's old and weighs about 100lbs, but it works awesome. I like that I can can reach my rear axle on my pickup...

    Best torque wrenches

if you're just doing tires, buy the $69 clicker from Sears... spending $400+ on a Snappy would just be a waste. with the money you save, you can buy a 3/8 drive one for your drain plugs.

Wife used bleach to clean fishtank. 8 dead fish.

I've got 3 chiclids and a couple plecos in my 42 gallon tank. I used to have more, but I had a fungus outbreak a while back and I lost a couple of my bigger chiclids (d*mn wal-mart fish) and the remaining big chichlids (they're 3-5") ate my smaller (1") chiclids. I also recently had a black...
