Get rid of varnish and clean ring pacs. Pulling the vc is a pain, so before and afters of the internals are probably not going to happen and pulling the plugs is risky so compression tests are not going to happen either. So the only thing we have for reference is oil fill hole pics, mpg, and...

    gas gauge issues TECHRON??

The fuel system cleaner is the techron you want. If that doesn't work give seafoam a shot If that doesn't work try MMO If none of those work drop it off at the dealer and let them mess with it!

    Is Pennzoil Platinum enough?

Which brings me to another point. If you buy used, like I do, its a good idea to run a high quality syn for a while just incase the previous owner was neglectful. And the whole point of this thread is that PP cleans well enough that an additive may not be needed in some cases.

    just started another kreen cycle..

It evaporates so im going to add more when the oil level drops back to full or 1000 miles, oci legth depends on the condition of the oil, but im aiming for 4k Fyi every oil I have ran in it stayed pretty clean on the stick. The engine has no sludge, just varnish so there is really nothing for...

    How to use Kreen?

I should clarify. Kreen evaporates in 500-1000 miles. Thats why you add it to a full sump and repeat every 1000 miles.

    Is Pennzoil Platinum enough?

You should click the link I posted. I have noticed considerable consumption drop using these oils. It never leaked so that tells me it was cleaning the ringpacs.

    just started another kreen cycle..

I just added my first dose to the current fill in my F150. Half in the gas and half in the oil. Never added it to gas before.. Anyway my current fill has 800 miles on it and still looks like new oil. The oil never gets very dark on the stick with 5k ocis so I will be monitoring color as one...

    Is Pennzoil Platinum enough?

There are plenty of documented cases where people have taken good care of cars and had the sludge up or serious varnish accumulation that impeded the performance of the engine. Do a little searching before making blanket statements
