What Automotive Battery does everyone like

I'm going for the Optima next. However, I will be running extra lights on the 4Runner for offroading/camping, and eventually put a winch on as well....may as well get the heaviest-duty battery out there.

    Subaru Forester Questions- Oil/ATF/Filter

Thanks, conservative driver here with few hard accelerations or braking. I'm gentle on my vehicles 95% of the time. I have changed the front and rear diff fluids at 30K and 60K too. I'll ask the dealer the next time- it may be the AWD bucking or something once in a while. Last time, I did not...

    Subaru Forester Questions- Oil/ATF/Filter

I think I have my 4Runner sorted out but now have questions on my 2006 NA Automatic Forester. If you guys have any oil recommendations, please let me know. I think the Forester is picky and not into Mobil 1. Anyway, I can always put PP OR should I try a Euro 0W-30 or 5W-30? Will Euro oil hurt...

    Ticking Subaru / Oil Option?

Oh, I use Balwin filters but I think the Subaru filters are pretty good. I also like the PureOne and Bosch filters. The ticking noise, as someone said, may be quite normal so don't do anything krrazy and really eff up the car.

    Ticking Subaru / Oil Option?

I don't think the heavier oil will solve the problem. It may mask the noise though. I have a 2006 and have been using 5-30 but am dropping to 5-20 just for the winter.

what oil for my engine??i wanna hear ur opinions.

From what I hear, Pennzoil dino or Mobil Clean 5000 will be perfect but 2,500 is a bit wasteful with zero benefits- had to say it.

    Curse you BITOG! Oil Choices....

I used to primarily think of women and mountain biking all the time. After joining this forum, I also think about oil...pretty scary.

    Amsoil, what are your thoughts?

I'm good with the Severe Gear Oil. I am not as convinced that their engine oils are any better or as good than the leading synthetics.

The screen jiggling happened to me yesterday as well for the first time. It was as I was typing my first post here. It isn't happening right now.

    Best engine/gear oil options for 4.7L 4Runner

i think I'm good filter-wise...for a while. I recently found a source for the original Japanese Denso filter (as opposed to the Thai-made one) so I ordered a dozen. After I run out, I'll look at a bigger filter.

    Best engine/gear oil options for 4.7L 4Runner

I was looking at that T6 by Shell. However, since it was 5W-40, I was not sure if it had some thicker properties that would be detrimental for the motor calling for 5W-30. However, some say synthetics are a bit "thinner" than dino and so many similar motors in Europe call for 5W-40. For fun, I...

    Best engine/gear oil options for 4.7L 4Runner

Also, could I use the Euro version in the same weight? It appears to me that the main difference is that the Euro versions aim to protect the engine without as much focus on fuel efficiency while the US versions have a secondary focus on fuel efficiency which may (statistically) reduce the...

    Best engine/gear oil options for 4.7L 4Runner

silvert4r: Motul is hard to find. I think some motorcycle shops carry it but price them insanely high. Do you buy online?

    Best engine/gear oil options for 4.7L 4Runner

I just don't want too much moly is all. Moly is fine but I don't want a "flyer" oil that uses too much when compared to the others. I'm here in Colorado so it does get cold in the winter.

    Best engine/gear oil options for 4.7L 4Runner

Good call on the Pennzoil. That is definitely one to keep on top. Hopefully it is easy to find. Also hear consistently good things about RL (except one weight has a ton of Moly). Amsoil Severe Gear Oil or Motul were my initial two options.

    Best engine/gear oil options for 4.7L 4Runner

First, let me say that I have been reading the threads on this forum for the past week or two. There is an really good amount of info here. So two weeks ago I bought a used 4Runner V8 and changed the oil. The dealership had already done it and overfilled by a LOT and tightened the filter so much...
