Give Oil Company profits to the people

The thought of penalizing a company for making a profit is ridiculous. Who decides what amount is too high, the government, a group of liberal politicians? What industry or business sector do you stop at? McDonalds is well above, Burger King, Wendy’s, and the likes. Maybe we should penalize...

Engine just rebuilt after cam failure, which oil?

Im using Valvoline VR-1 30 wt in my '67 mustang. It has more Zn/Ph than just about anything straight off the shelf. I was set on using a diesel oil until I came across their VR-1 in 30 wt.

    VR1 30wt valvoline

yeh, I'm running a 15W-40 right now, I was just trying to find a straight 30wt, happy with 40 overall, the biggest thing I notice with the 40wt is higher oil pressure.

    VR1 30wt valvoline

Per valvoline website, this 30wt has high Zn/Ph (if I recall 1300), but the bottle says it meets "SM"? I thought SM oils had to meet lower ZDDP requirements or am I way off on this? I'm trying to find oil for my '67 mustang with flat tappet. thanks

    Intellistick-Popular Mechanics

Not sure about where to post this, but PM reviewed this new dipstick, that monitors/measures electrical conductivity of oil, based on water content, additive depletion, maybe some other components. Looked interesting anyway, the website doesn't have a price, but PM said it was around $350...lot...

It's Back.....(at least in the rest of the world)

Speaking of Zmax, buddy at worked bought some. He said his MPG increased as well. He was strictly basing it on the MPG counter on his pickup, so I don't know how accurate and all, but he was pretty impressed with the gain.

Oil consumption cut in half after 'solvent' flush?

Its kinda humorous reading through this thread and others on the forum. If anyone gets any good results from anything other than auto-rx, the results are questioned, this one has an agenda, had to be something else, etc..etc.. Not saying auto-rx doesn't clean an engine, but some of these folks...

    Mobil one extended performance 5w-30

I see no sludge or varnish. That is typical discoloration that will be on any used engine using any oil.

    Tractor Oil (series 3 ??)

I have a '07 farmtrac with a 4 cyl mitsubishi diesel. The owners manual states to use a 15W-40 SF / CD series 3 oil. I have never heard of series 1, 2, 3, etc. can anyone shed some light on this. Furthermore, I know the CD rating is obsolete, so I was thinking of going with M1 High Mileage for...

    CI-4 or CI-4 PLUS Ratings

It originally did stand for "compression", it was changed and now per API stands for "commercial", but compression for logical reasons still stands for alot of people.
