    Modern cars and drive-in movies

For all of you younger folks, I can't even begin to describe how much making out we did at the drive ins! No body in their teens went to the drive in to watch the movie! It was more like a Roman orgy inside of at least half of the cars there on Friday and Saturday nights.

Is there a SR-72 in our Future?

Satellites have very predictable orbits so your advesaries always know when to hide their targets. Aircraft aren't that predictable. You can also switch out the payloads on aircraft after every flight. Not so much with satellites.

Bet you had friends like this when you were younger

You too? A few years later I went over to a girl's house and apprently her parents had already been warned about me, because when she introduced me their response was basically "Oh Hell, No!"

    Modern cars and drive-in movies

I haven't seen a drive in movie theater in ages I don't think that there any even left in this state. We did go to same drive-ins in the late 1970s but what we found was that, for economy reasons, the top of the windshield was too low too even allow you see see all of the movie screen.

Bet you had friends like this when you were younger

I was riding in someone else's car in HS and we were driving though the HS parking lot at low speed when one our other buddies stepped out in front of him facing the car and holding his arms out to his side. The driver stopped right in front of him and the other one just flopped down on the hood...

Bet you had friends like this when you were younger

In the 1960s, I have a VW powered dune buggy. We would get an old car hood and tie it on at the end of a long rope, 100 feet or so and tie that to the DB. Perferably one of the old 1950s style hoods that when turned upside down looked like the prow of a ship. I would drive the DB all over the...

Is there a SR-72 in our Future?

There already is, sort of, see the X-37B. The duration of it's last known mission was 908 days! It's not as maneuverable as an atmospheric aircraft such as the SR-71 but it's flight time is simply incredible and it flies high enough that most countries can't attack it. But knowing the US Gov...

Soliciting thoughts- 2019 DRW F350 stolen (salvage but clear title)

If they were hauling passengers in the rear of the cab without a seat then you're probably right, studs sticking up out of the floor would have made it very uncomfortable for anyone back there. Fixing the studs may give you the excuse that you need to take the carpets out and scrub them clean.

Soliciting thoughts- 2019 DRW F350 stolen (salvage but clear title)

Ideally but you would have to take out the carpet and the plastic trim that's holding it and you would need to clean up the welds and repaint the area(s) on top and bottom. And with the thin, heat treated high tensile strength steel that is used in most vehicles today, you have to employee very...

Soliciting thoughts- 2019 DRW F350 stolen (salvage but clear title)

What about a long bolt with fender washers on top and bottom and a nut to secure them? That will leave you with the approximation of a stud. They must have been hauling something heavy in there to have pushed over those studs and to bend them like that.

    Ford Quality Lags Behind Competition

We've gotten several. But only when we bought a car brand new. J D Power doesn't your opinion about your car after you've had it for a while and found the flaws in it, only when it's BRAND NEW and everything still works and while you're still enamored with your purchase. Everything that we get...

    Ford Quality Lags Behind Competition

Nails it. The number of recalls isn't a true measure of the lack of quality. It is more of a measure of the manufacturer's willingness to correct major issues; and usually because the Gov forces them too because of safety concerns or because the vehicle didn't meet the required emissions...

options to dispose off a car

I don't think that you ever said what model or what year car it is so I have no idea of it's value. But if it's running then I expect that someone may want it and be willing to repair or replace the transmission. Look it on Craigslist, E-bay or KBB and see what the car is worth in running...

tankless water heater replacement . $$$$

It's not like boiling a big pot of water on the stove every day and then not using it and letting it get cold again. Your HW tank should be very well insulated and the hot water will remain in your tank and be ready the next time that you need some, without having to reheat it. Completely agree...

Do you use USPS informed delivery and worry about what's coming that day?

X2. A lot of the stuff that comes in the mail is unsolicited, including completely unimportant, and unsolicited, stuff from companies we do do business with. If you worry every every piece of junk that comes in the mail then you're going to drive yourself insane! And it's not uncommon for us to...

options to dispose off a car

I wanted to get rid of an old car a few years ago and I called the number listed in some of those ads and in some of the donate-to-a-charity ads and I found in the on-line listings that many of the phone numbers listed were the exact same number. But they ALL routed to a the same call center in...

    This smells terrible......

I stepped on a nest of those little yellow B******** one time and they got me good! My revenge was to dump a cup full of gasoline down into their nest and then put hubcap over it and leave it for 24 hours. I never saw another one.
