    Ester based motorcycle oil

This guy did VOA on yamalube gp, which is similar to my Honda HP4RU oil and the motul 300v in terms of marketing and price. The report didnt seem special and made the amsoil look better. Is there anything oil analysis doesn't show?

    Ester based motorcycle oil

Thanks for the input. What do you think is in the 300V that makes it $23 a quart? Is it just marketing? And conversely, what's in the Mobil 1 that makes it $10 a quart?

    Ester based motorcycle oil

You might be right. My manual states, "Engine oil consumption varies, and oil quality deteriorates according to riding conditions and time elapsed," and "Dirty oil or old oil should be changed as soon as possible." It also says for the interval, "Regular = every 8,000 miles." So, does that mean...

On the back of the Klotz 10W-30 motorcycle oil, it indicates an API SN. How does API work? For example, the Amsoil is only API SH. Did they send their oil to API and it only met SH, or did they just certify it for API SH?

I might give the Red Line 10W-30 motorcycle oil a try. It's in stock near me, meets all my owner's manual requirements, is made in the USA, and seems to get good reviews. The other oil I am looking at is the Klotz TechniPlate 10W-30, but there is not much info on it.

Don't want to do more than 8k. I just want the "best" oil for those 5-8k miles that I run it for.

Tell me about the HPL products. I see on different forums people recommending them. How do they compare to Amsoil or redline for example?

@Pablo does the amsoil EAOM103-EA filter fit my 2024 cbr600rr?

    Ester based motorcycle oil

Okay, does the amount of ester used in an oil directly relate to price? Every oil I see that is expensive claims ester, every cheaper oil makes no mention of ester.

What makes a manufacturer advertise "ester", some even say "triple ester"?

    Ester based motorcycle oil

Here is a 8500 mile change on 300v. 2014 cbr1000rr. Guess it depends what a long drain interval is. The Honda manual states 8,000 mile changes. Obviously racing/track day use probably was not taken into account for that interval.

Thanks for the answer. Now if you were to look at that list of oils I provided, is there any that stand out to you?

AMSOIL Metric Motorcycle OR Dirt Bike??

I have a 2023 CRF250R, and I would just buy the Amsoil dirt bike oil. Their entire product literature on the dirt bike oil focuses on good clutch feel, whether you are doing race starts or riding in the woods. But truthfully, I don't think it matters. I also have a 20-year-old Honda XR70 that...

I was more so referencing the owners manual and what they would rule out, not what I am personally ruling out.

Your same sentiment is what I have found with lots of people, and I have seen some good UOA here with similar bikes on that oil. The 10W-30 really is Honda-specific, as it seems around 2006 they stopped with the temperature chart thing and only recommended 10W-30.

    Ester based motorcycle oil

Hi everyone, I am in search of oil for my CBR600RR. The oils I have tried were Honda HP4S, Honda HP4RU, and Lucas Oil Motorcycle Oil, none of which were ester-based that I know of. The only notable oil was the Lucas, as my clutch grabbed way better, and the shifts were notably smoother. Let's...
