    Software upgrades in general

Our video and VFX Workstations here are not on the internet (air gap), so security is not an issue. When I build a new workstation, I put a hand massaged Win 10 on it (all the crap and bloat turned off or removed) - once it runs fine, it never get's an OS update. Programms get updates when they...

An observation: lots of off-brand summer tires in Europe?

Not really - you can spot them sometimes, but just on the road of course.

An observation: lots of off-brand summer tires in Europe?

That pretty much every street/road that is not paved is of limits, let alone driving anywhere off the road.

An observation: lots of off-brand summer tires in Europe?

I can only speak for Germany, but people over here don't care as much for tire brands as on other countries. Of course there are some groups that make a cult around it (as always), but the average Joe Shmock is looking at the price tag. Depending on where in Germany you live - given enough...

End of life of electronic devices

I'm on my second Huawei as we speak. The first one was 6 years old when the battery gave up, the one I have now is 5 years old and still going strong, so I probably keep it for a few more years. Okay - I don't get the latest android OS anymore, but I also couldn't care less - playstore still...

Foggy windows in the “old days” when most cars didn’t have AC.

Since my daily driver's AC is broken, and the rest of my cars are pre 1955, I deal with that on a regular basis. Heating up the windshield with defrost stops condensation, also cracking the windows while at it. Also I have that blue anti fog cloth, that helps a bit but smears the glas. Anti fog...

The Real Reason Project Cars Take Forever

That's a great looking truck, I always wanted exactly that shortbed/stepside model with the spare at the side.

    I hate hail

Yeah, my mom's car got turned into a golf ball, when a hail storm ploughed through here 2 weeks ago. Shattered the rear lights, and even knocked the number plate off. The whole area was totally devastated. Trees without leaves, gardens and houses ruined.

    Crank engine for lubrication

My 41 Chevy sits in the Garage during winter because I avoid the salt. Before I start it the first time in spring, I pull the dizzy and use a drill with an oil pump adapter (basically a big screw driver shaft) to spin the oil pump till I see oil coming out of the rockers and than some. But on...

    Brake lights need a rethink?

"Duuuude I need to see lights, or I crash into stationary cars all the time" Looks like a lot of folks just lost the ability to drive save without assistance in the last years - it's sad. And we are talking about America - here in Germany where people drive like animals, it's even worse.

    Brake lights need a rethink?

Seriously - if you need brake lights to tell that a car is not moving, you shouldn't drive at all. What if a stick shift car is in front of you? You don't have to be on the brake, while waiting in front of a traffic light with a stick shift. Do you crash in those all the time?

    Brake lights need a rethink?

And while at it, make the brightness proportional to the brake force - also disable brake lights altogether, when the car is not moving.
