He has 115,000km (mentioned in another recent vid)... its quite common with that oat coolant... there are a number of posts/videos that I've see complaining/showing that oat coolant being that way

I have never personally used motul or amsoil but based on the info I've seen they both have fantastic reputations... I would be curious to see a test done where 3 identical vehicles with 8 speeds are driven over the same route using cruise control. Only difference being one using original...

Agreed but I think it would be nearly impossible for an average joe to get his hands on the complete specifications. I imagine the majority of companies would keep their exact formula a closely guarded secret

I was only postulating on a reason you see so much more info (testimonials) on maxlife than for example amsoil or motul... I thought a reasonable explanation for it was "probably" partially due to the fact that Valvoline is so much cheaper than the others

I wouldn't trust any coolant for 10 years... look at the sludge in this oat coolant and the guy says its 5 years old

Does the PPE pan still have magnets inside?

What did it cost you for the ppe pan plus gasket?

And given the continued number of posts to this thread following my statement I'd say its clear this is a very divisise topic.

Its clear from the amount of speculation happening here that noone (myself included) knows the who, how, and where this fluid is made. I have emailed ZF directly in an attempt to get accurate information straight from the source. What can be said for sure is that lifegaurd 8 fluid is...

I meant a "hot" topic based on the posts which show a divided opinion on whether or not people would use a different fluid...

Wow... when I first posted in this thread (re-activating) this conversation, I had no idea it would attract so much attention. I would like to thank everyone who took the time to post on what is clearly still a hot and divisive topic. The opinions and information shared has provided perspective...

Ya I mean I accept the fact that the standard specs/data for fluids like below don't tell the whole story... there are additives, foaming agents, ect... but I also believe other major companies spend significant resources researching the same things.

All the fluids on the "approved list" from ZF called TE-ML 11 are lifegaurd 8 fluid. There just rebranded and sold by mopar, BMW, land rover...ect. Anyone who uses ZF transmissions and has a relationship with ZF (worth millions). They all use the patented zf lifeguard 8 fluid (or there own fluid...

Because none of those companies are willing to pay ZF the licensing fee... so why would ZF endorse another fluid when they make there own

The almighty $$$... the BMW fluid is $90 quart..lol
