    The Hudson Helicopter Crash

Not a lot of new information from Juan.....but. Place was in bankruptcy... First thing they probably cut is maintenance. That and the CEO acting like a child doesn't say good things about his operation.

Loves and Flying J are not Top Tier

Especially for people towing travel trailers with gasser trucks. That's one thing I do look at when I plan a trip. The big stations are usually so much easier in and out. And You're not THAT butthole that is blocking 50% of the pumps.

Loves and Flying J are not Top Tier

My personal opinion is I just don't worry about it. We're going on a 3500 mile trip this summer towing the travel trailer. 3500 miles towing a 6000# trailer with a high strung Turbo I4 and I've already planned all the gas stops and not once did I look up whether they were TT or not. I just...

    Meriva B 2015 coolant change

Are you planning on using a concentrated coolant or a 50/50 premix? If that particular auto isn't known to have coolant problems (Plugged heater cores/radiators etc) You might just be better off draining out what will drain and refilling with 50/50.

Loves and Flying J are not Top Tier

I would rather buy from a non top-tier high volume station than a top tier low volume one. Quicktrip/Racetrac/Loves/Pilot/Etc. That's just about all I've bought over the last 30 years of driving. The whole Top Tier thing is proof that marketing still works.

    How Cool Is Too Cool?

You want it to get fairly warm to help drive off condensation and any fuel that might get in there. Although your short OCI might mean that doesn't matter one bit. Can you install a thermal bypass so that the cooler doesn't come in circuit until the oil is up to temp?

Stellantis TSB for 6.7 diesel engine tick - Tunap 955 oil additive

Well, yea. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt. :)

Stellantis TSB for 6.7 diesel engine tick - Tunap 955 oil additive

Are they just grasping at straws hoping they can bandaid an engineering defect until the thing makes it out of warranty?

Stellantis TSB for 6.7 diesel engine tick - Tunap 955 oil additive

Well, there's something you don't see every day. https://media.tunap.com/stmedia/tunap/documents/LANG_en/PR08_1102676_ArticleDatasheetWithLogo.pdf I've never heard of that company/product.

    The Hudson Helicopter Crash

Indeed, seeing the pictures of the 4 dogbones that hold that assembly to the airframe...not that it seems like a break there would be easy, but a single failure looks like it would take out the whole assembly.

    The Hudson Helicopter Crash

I try to tell myself that it is just a side effect of living in the digital age where everything is recorded and everyone knows everything almost instantly. At least that's what I tell myself. I guess I could dig up the data somewhere to see if it is happening more often or not.

Ford is offering employee pricing to all U.S. customers on most 2024 and 2025 Ford and Lincoln vehicles

Right before they launched this round of marketing they emailed me a $2000 off certificate, good on just about anything. Actually had me looking for a little bit, but no one keeps what I want on the lot and I'd have to have it built, so I'm not willing to chance the price being significantly...

    The Hudson Helicopter Crash

Didn't hear about it until today. What absolutely heart wrenching footage. No signs of trouble until the very end, looks like the bird just came apart at the seams. Juan seems to think gearbox lockup, seems to me that failed transmission mounts would do the same thing. Time will tell. Yikes.

Valvoline FLEXFILL gear oil packs - NAPA $12.99

That's a few bucks off the $16 I paid last week for some. Decent deal. Being the cheapskate I am....I saved the pouches just in case the bottles are cheaper next time. I know, it's an affliction I have.

Need Help with a Small Engine

Got to digging around for the Yamaha manual. At least the one I was able to find shows: Difference in the ES and the HS should be reach with the ES being longer. I'm certainly no plug expert, but you certainly want to get the right length reach in case there's no room in there and the...

Stop Leak gear oil compatible with yellow metals?

In a 52 year old Land Rover? Question I would ask is, is there anything that isn't leaking? I'd think the only cure is what @Speedbird001 said. Replace seals with modern upgrades if they are available. If not....well keep making sure it is leaking, at least you'll know there is oil in it.

Need Help with a Small Engine

I always have to go digging for it, can't remember offhand. --Edit-- My recordkeeping is worthless tonight. My little 1000 watt Wen takes this NGK CR5HSB But I looked in my service history for my bigger Wen and all I put was 'Changed to NGK Plug' So, yep, I'm an idiot on this one. I...

Need Help with a Small Engine

Is it still on the OEM plug, and is it one of those 'Torch' branded ones? That's what a huge percentage of these overseas inverter genny's come with. If so, throw it in the trash and put an NGK in it. Report back.

    900k original engine Accord V6 6MT on 15k OCIs

I still maintain that a non-vcm J-Series engine is one of the best engines ever made. They're not bleeding edge technology for the time and they have a few minor faults, but they will run forever if taken care of.
