    It has been discussed on here before that not all STP Extended Life oil filters are PG made. Some are Champion made as @haggler noted. You have to look at them to be sure.

    The viscosity didn’t stay in spec. It sheared to a 30 grade. A 40 grade oil S/B 12.5-16.29. I don’t go by BlackStone’s “values should be” number.

    This filter came off of my 22kW Generac whole house generator that runs on natural gas. The filter was in use for 2 years and around 45-50 hours of operation. About 45 of the run hours were after Hurricane Milton in Oct. 2024. The oil used was Havoline Life Long D1G3 5W-30. Filter looked good...

    Generac 22kW back up generator. Out: Havoline Life Long D1G3 5W-30 and a FRAM Titanium FS4386 oil filter. In: QS FS HM D1G3 5W-30 and a Pentius PLXL4386 oil filter.

    @OVERKILL In the example I posted below, (not my bike), the oil is a 20W-50. After 5,000 miles, which is what Harley says is a normal OCI, the ending viscosity was 23.87, which makes it a 60 grade. Is this something to be concerned about...

    Looks good. Yeah, no sense in running the Klotz when the Castrol UOA looked a little better. I’m running the same Castrol in my ‘89 EG.

    Do I have a Defective S&S Oil Filter for My Harley?
