Freedom Worx ... video about pre-filling filters

Engines makers today make stupid engine designs, like they did in the past too. One bad one in a lot of GM vehicles is the 6.2 v8 gas motor. I used to own 2 Vegas, and used to own 2 GM diesel passenger car from the early 80's. I have owned lots of dumb stupid engine designs. And you know people...

Freedom Worx ... video about pre-filling filters

You do realize you're not logically looking at this from a business POV. They just don't care about MAXIMIZING ENGINE LIFE. Now me as an owner who owns a vehicle for a long time, I do care about getting as much miles from an engine as I can. And the others, they trade in for new cars. And how...

Freedom Worx ... video about pre-filling filters

OEM only cares about getting a car past the engine warrantee, they do not want engine life maximized, they want to sell new cars, new engines and have engines repaired at dealers.

Freedom Worx ... video about pre-filling filters

I always have filled all oil filters. The video was clear that the new oil from a jug is cleaner than the oil in the engine, so then prefill the filters. Some people though are dumb enough to put old dirty oil into a new filter? Boggles the mind. I want my engines to develop oil pressure ASAP...

    FAKE PUROLATOR BOSS purchased?

You know a bypass valve is not all or nothing, it's opening partially on a pressure gradient in degrees. It all depends on temps and degree of filter loading as to how much engine oil is actually bypassing filtration. Anyway, the system works.

    FAKE PUROLATOR BOSS purchased?

I think it won't matter as they are around 8 psi

    FAKE PUROLATOR BOSS purchased?

If your engine has its own built-in bypass valve in like the filter base, then having one in the filter won't hurt anything, it is just an extra bypass valve, and they are all normally shut.

Freedom Worx ... video about pre-filling filters

Point is that it's better to fill the filter with new oil than not filling the filter, if you can.

LSJr. The TRUTH About Valvoline's BOLD Engine Cleaning Claims

There is a lot less oil up there at piston top. Like anything when cleaning, clothes etc.. it takes a large amount of liquid to saturate, soak and clean out dirt. So that does not surprise me the piston picture.

Freedom Worx ... video about pre-filling filters

studied and proved less wear when prefilled filters Result is bearing damage when not prefilling filter AND, New oil from jug is cleaner than oil in the engine

Freedom Worx ... video about pre-filling filters

Fill with clean oil, means new oil from the jug. Course does not say HOW to prefill, maybe they mean pour oil into the outer ring of holes! I have never had a problem in 50 years of prefilling oil filters on any engine, but the truth is, if they all said pre oil, people might just put old dirty...

I got the info from here which could be wrong. Post #13, #27, #28, #120 https://www.cumminsforum.com/threads/do-you-prefill-your-oil-filter.612300/ I still prefill all my filters except diesel fuel filters, On the cummin I key on several times and it fills and starts The Cummins filter is very...

Freedom Worx ... video about pre-filling filters

I always prefill oil filters. On the Cummins site, they say Cummins says you must prefill engine oil filters. Or you risk bearing damage. Maybe diesel with their much higher cylinder pressures are an issue.

Does an oil filter get affected by time?

They will NOT fall apart if on the engine in oil for many years, if they did that proves them flawed. Hot oil and pressure, they made to resist that or they would fail and engines ruined. And an engine is not running continually for years, so they are not under pressure or heat all that much...

Baldwin BD7317 cut open vortex filter dual flow Cummins 5.9L diesel, very nice filter

And an advantage of dual filter is it won't clog up with fines and force the engine filter base to open its pressure relief valve which on the Cummins is set to 8psi. When it goes into bypass, the oil is not being filtered If it had just one large fine filter, that could happen and you won't...

Baldwin BD7317 cut open vortex filter dual flow Cummins 5.9L diesel, very nice filter

The advantage is extra oil cleaning, like a built in bypass element. I looked into these things in 2019 when I bought the truck. Oil still turns black.
