    I had a heart attack

So go to your recommended site by googling WebMd.com vit k2 mk7, and read where research said it was useful to lower calcium in the artery. Maybe calcium isn't the whole picture, but it's some of it. My dad went though heart issues although he just ran out of air not a heart attack. He went...

    I had a heart attack

Well, I have mild muscular dystrophy and it is contraindicated with my condition. I drank 2 bottles of Benecol with plant stanols and thighs burned in a few days. That stuff works too; I saw a chemistry professors test results of him being on it, and it worked as good as the pharma statins...

Best Scantool for Checking ATF Temp?

I use Scanguage II for $159 or Google it for lower from Rv place I bought last from. It's the best guage thing I've ever seen. I put it on my 2007 6speed auto RX8 many years ago, and found a code from a guy with Mazda 6 that gives me trans temp. I had some kind of problem with trans at 23k...

    I had a heart attack

Over a year ago, at age 64.5, I had a calcium heart scan in Indonesia for $115. out of pocket. It was my idea that I had read about in US (I spend half year in each palce). Calcium has affinity for cholesterol, and is part of the clogging. I have some pretty pics of slight clogging with a...

    Ridiculous ABC News aviation item

I landed with Korean Airlines at Incheon into 40mph+ sand storm. I was kinda cool so I watched the flight data to see our 777 landing at 120 mph instead of normal 160 ish. Once I flew to Moscow from IAH just before a winter storm, and we rode the jet stream up over Canada, and our 777 was...

Just had a tire balance with ZERO weight added

I just bought set of 215/40r18 Michelin PSS from Discount tire. One had no weight, and others have approx 1/2 oz or 2 small connected lead pieces. Really smooth running tires, and don't look that small for the size on 7.5 x18 Enkei 19# wheels. It's always best to have this perfect fit instead...

Who here runs an oil filter or oil pan magnet?

I put a few strong magnets around oil filter. We all have seen pics of powdered iron caught by these things. These iron particles would go right through filter. I'm not OCD about oil change, and haven't changed in 6 years, but only 6k miles. Oil looks good and will get UOA next spring. This...

I closed on my first home on Thursday!

Get into the attic, and check it's closed to any varmint, and there are open vents allowing air in under outside eaves, and out the top somehow. I see no vents on front. Water and moisture is your enemy. Oh, and get a good riding mower; you'll need it.

    Sediment in bottom of bottle?

That's why one shouldn't use those ultrafine filters. They can be so good as to get the additive package out of oil.

Highest gloss interior dressing for hard plastics?

I really like Turtle wax Detailer. It's made to spray on exterior, but it can go on any plastic or exterior windshield even. I think they sell interior detailer, but I'm pretty sure they are approx the same thing. I even bought 3M spray wax, but it is white like real wax. The turtle detailer...

    Going to pikes peak

Don't forget about MtEvans to the north of Pikes Peak. The road is nice, goes through a shifting glacier, and a scary dropoff near the top. The July day we were there, it started hailing marble size, just as we got to the 14,200 ft top. We looked around to the north for 5 minutes watching...

Would changing tires be noticeable if both new

I put Hankook Ventus V12 on my RX8 because rated high, especially in wet, and only $100/each. I just put on Michelin PSS for only $175 which I think will be even cheaper. Why? Becuase the hankooks went for 6 years, 13k miles, and were hard as rocks and worn out. They were so hard that they...

Vibration at highway speeds that will not go away

Did you check for the splines being loose where they insert into wheel hub? This sounds much like the Scirocco come and go thing I had on front half shafts. Luckily we didn't have traction control to go off back then.

    Replacing the Crumbling Continentals

Rubber looks good in grooves. I bet that chucking would stop if you stay on pavement. I don't see anything unsafe about them.

    Highest Quality Non Detergent Oil

Hydraulic or compressor oils need non detergent to keep from foaming, and any dirt falls to bottom of crankcase, etc. Some industrial transmissions call for 50weight motor oil which can take a higher temp, and thus need to be non detergent to stop foaming.

    Asymmetric Tire Patterns

If tires were asymmetrical and directional at same time they'd have to keep up with 2 specs of same size; one for left and right. I've never heard of that on a real tire.

1953 letter complaining about detergent engine oil

As son of a fuel distributor being a teenage gas pump jockey, I got a chuckle one day. A guy came in with 55 Chevy bragging about how clean that non detergent oil was when I checked his oil. At 15 in 1967, I even knew the story. Of course oil is clean, but any dirt just lays around inside...

"Optimal" Tire Rotation = 1/4 of Expected Life?

My alignments are close enough to watch tire wear, and check how alignment is working. I don't want to even it out unless it's really bad. I've had 2 front wheel drive cars in which I'd drive to 5/32nds on front rotate that to back and use the newish back tire at 8/32's until both worn out.

"Optimal" Tire Rotation = 1/4 of Expected Life?

I'm of BMW's opinion that rotation should only be done to save tires under bad alignment conditions. I have a car with staggered that can't rotate; a X1 s28i with 225/45r18 and 255/40r18 tires. Rears wear faster, so I'll get new set when they are really worn. My other car, RX8 has had good...

    Discount Tires

I think my papers said Michehlin even gives road service if tire goes flat on my PSS set. Did I misread?
