    mouse under hood

The chewing of wire on those modern electronics can fry them or make a new wiring harness necessary. It's not like in 60's where a few wires runs the car.

    mouse under hood

Maybe that's why I don't have them. I pour my trucker bottle out under car. Also, apartments have cats here and there.

    1974 Chevrolet Corvette 350 J.

Rock Auto Akebono Euro ceramic pads. I put on front of my BMW X1 and they have a very nice feel of modulation without grabbiness.

They can destroy most of wiring harness, and total your car or at least bring a $2-5k bill.

Anyone have or ever used to have an Erector set? (Games/toys)

I loved my erector set, and built a ferris wheel. Then, I belt connected a real steam engine to it. In the 60's we could play with fire in the house!

    Replace car battery?

My 2002 4.7l Dakota worked fine until 2010 and approx 70k miles. I was needing to take a 6k mile trip through the southwest, and battery cranked slow just before that trip. Perfect timing, and I drove straight to Walmart, and changed there. PU had the towing package for the big battery. Now my...

External Trans Cooler Size -How to know what size?

I put a 18,800 tube and fin cooler in my 07 Mazda RX8. It took 14 degs F out of system, and will cool engine coolant too when cruising. I can drive 100 mph on a 100 deg f day and coolant and ATF will be 193 deg f. I took out the rock guard, and attached brackets there.

Does she criticize your driving all the time? My B/N is a nightmare...

My Indonesian wife learned late and can't drive, but has hair trigger freakout. I drove by a racetrack once (on the way), and pointed to it. "I won top time of day in a sports car there, so don't tell me how to drive."

    Best Inline-6 ever made?

My 82 F150 with 300 knocked like a b**** for years in hot dry weather, but still went 170k before burning oil. I guess it could've been tuned better or just run premium unlead. I was a fuel distributor, and had the gas, but like the plumber didn't have time to tweak own stuff.

How important is CTEK Stage 7

Yeah, I know, and so does BMK, but when it gets up in those stages it still wants to recondition. I ran for BMK 2 4 8, 2 hours and caught it wanting to charge at 14.8 volts where I don't want it to. I'm just saying to watch the charge on AGM's, and get em off when the charge trys to go over 14.7...

How important is CTEK Stage 7

That's good info on lead acid batteries, but could ruin an AGM since no acid flowing around. An AGM should never stay at 14.8+ volts, bubble, or even get over 104 deg F. I'm chicken to leave a maintainer on one. Luckily, I can only disconnect for the 3 months I'm gone, and it's always still...

1991 Nissan D21 Pickup - Old Oil Sitting 4.5 Years

It's not the years sitting there that hurt oil. It's full of iron and lead which clearly was run too many miles. Here's my Mazda RX8 on Mobil 1 0w40 with 7700 miles and 7 years. Sometimes I'd drive 1000 miles to drive on track, but car mostly sitting. No stop and go type.

How important is CTEK Stage 7

On my BMW X1, I don't have electricity for car, so when at friends, I charge for a few hours with Ctek 5.0. I don't think anything past stage 3 is necessary for my use. I just need to get some extra charge occasionally. The Ctek is kinda slow, and I also use my BMK AGM charger at 8amp AGM, and...

    Weird tire wear

Rear wheel drive? Tight rear brake? My BMW X1 had great dynamic cornering using rear brakes as a differential. It was also jerking rear tires to wear them twice as fast. I put Posi-quiet ceramic pads on rears, and got less braking, jerking, and rear tire wear.

    Calcium Score Test

As stated, the theory that it's calcium making bones in the arteries. Get body to put calcium on bones, and out of arteries. This theory is all over the place if you Google it. Fermented foods like saurkraut, kimchi, and natto are good ways for body to do that. How many of us are eating that...

    Calcium Score Test

I'd like to do test again to see if my theory worked, but it might not happen. I have a type of muscular dystrophy ( CMT), and not supposed to take statins because we need cholesterol to make myelin sheath insulation on nerves. Statins are number one drug in the world and big pharma wants...

    Calcium Score Test

Yeah, I'm a world traveler and heard about the calcium heart test 4 years ago in my US home town for $100. I went down to local Indonesian Catholic hospital for my blood pressure doc, and got it done on a 2004 GE cat scan. I had seen the results of another man laying on the table. So much for...

    Can I hold off?

Anytime I drove any car, I drove at least 10 minutes or more. I have an RX8 that Mobil 1 0w40 stayed in 7 years and 7700 miles. A few of those 1000 miles I drove to road course for one hour of track day. Tested oil, and not that dirty, just thickened slightly. I think 5 years and 5 k miles could...

    Proper haircut tip?

My town is money hungry oil field town. Haircut in summer was $29! Hair clippers were really hard to find, but got a nice small Wahl for $40. My wife was queasy that we could do it , but she's raving about the second cut I did by feel myself with the 1 inch guard. Just buzz it all over against...
