"First Saw" advice to a younger man...

I'd say it's close competition between a corded circular saw or miter saw, but those are far ahead of anything else. IMO.

Milwaukee Cordless Ratchets - maximum manual torque rating?

At one time I was trying to do the upper bellhousing bolts on my Nova with my M12 ratchet, 24" extension, and a universal joint. May have been two 24" extensions. Anyway, I was really cranking on the end of the ratchet and the battery finally flew out and across the floor. I then thought...

    Oil extraction tool, 2023 version?

OP was, yes, but there was a side question from a guy looking to do a rear diff. You then quoted the reply to that question.

How much oil are you pumping into your differential?

Looking for a new torque wrench

How do the internals of the wrench know where it's being pulled on? It's just measuring the difference between handle force and the anvil. It may vary based on the type of wrench, but I have all of my clickers marked 12" from the anvil, and will pull at that point using a fish scale to verify...

    New tool thread

All of the comments I've seen Olsa make on Facebook are clear that they should work with any CHROME socket.

    New tool thread

My local store listed the regular price at $19.98, just like this one, so it's surprising to hear of stores way above that. Mine were clearanced at $14.97 so I was out the door for $15 and change. They had 6-8 sets.

    Tool storage

At home it’s a solid 3. In the race trailer it’s more 1-2.

    Welders: Lincoln/Century better than HF?

It could be argued that if the consumer doesn't know the difference, then they probably wouldn't know the difference. Know what I'm saying?

    Welders: Lincoln/Century better than HF?

That would be honorable but foolish. People are willing to pay a premium for a name, thinking it is an indicator of higher quality. In the case of these Lincoln welders, they are a decent middle ground. They have all metallic drive mechanisms where your HF welders are a lot of plastic, but it...

Screwdrivers - which ones do you actually use?

I have this set of Vessel ball grips. The "butts" are marked with + or - which wear off easily, but the color differentiates the two styles, and the balls are also sized differently so you can tell which one you are grabbing...

    3/8" Shank Hex Bits?

After measuring, it appears to be 10mm hex. Right at .400”. The socket is normally available as part of a Ribe (similar to Torx for those who may be wondering) bit set.

    3/8" Shank Hex Bits?

A couple weeks ago, I was placing an order for various thing and there was a thread on this board about hex adapter sockets, so I found one offered by this retailer and added it to my cart. It was 3/8" drive which seemed to be overkill, but it was cheap. It is a Sunex 972423. It finally arrived...

    Welders: Lincoln/Century better than HF?

About a year ago, I was looking for a 120 volt welder. I looked a lot at the 140 offerings from Lincoln and Hobart. I almost picked up a used Century, but I was reading a lot of stuff about bad control boards so crossed them off the list. I didn’t have a particular use in mind, and hasn’t...

The Husky 144s are great, and an absolute steal if you catch them on sale. I don't wrench every day though.

    1/4" drive bit adapters

Not the same thing, but I've got this guy here. I believe this purchase came from some other Tool Time post. 1/4" drive ratchet on one end, and 1/4" ratcheting hex driver on the other. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003TSMQWU?
