SL is not that old I would just use it then.

    A discussion about VIIs

That's why HTHS is important, although I remember reading on here gokhan had a pretty solid theory on base oil viscosity having an impact on extreme shear/temperature performance like conditions seen by the valve train and timing chain. Me, I tend to stick to 10w/15w in summer for that reason...

Should I have my transmission fluid changed?

If you're going to sell it no, unless you want to benefit the buyer. Only junk transmissions fail at 125k even with OE fills.

Straight 30 weight in my Pathfinder?

If it's got an API spec older than your engine calls for I wouldn't run it, but realistically nothing bad would be likely to happen.

Is this how to get a caliper to retract? 🤣

Yeah if a c clamp won't do it you should replace the caliper.

Higher mileage vehicles. How high is too high when buying? Suggestions?

Yup they had to have been well built to get to that mileage, if it has a solid service history and it's not rusted out I would not be afraid to buy one.

If you just hit it with a spray cleaner every 10k you won't have to do that.

Infiniti Q50 (VR30DDTT) | can't make up my mind on oil...

0w40. Low saps vs full saps is an argument not worth having. Intake valve deposits are a when not if problem if you don't regularly clean the intake valves and run very long OCI.

Looking for first person story: My warranty denied because of oil used

Worth it to me, my engine has 201,000 miles and I'm well past the warranty period, it will probably go 500k if I keep doing what I'm doing. If I ever buy another Hyundai its going to get the same treatment regardless what the oil cap says because it's obviously working.

    Bad brakes; Is this real?

I had a lady come in for a brake inspection, no brake pads at all in the rear, literally grinding down the caliper that was leaking profusely, down to metal on the front brakes, declined all services, had to put almost a quart of brake fluid in just to somewhat safely drive it out it was leaking...

I hate working on the ground.

One benefit of where I work, they don't care if I work on my own car. I live in a studio apartment so no air tools for me at home. I may be a young man who grew up with lithium batteries but ever since I started using air tools in the shop I can easily say they are far superior to cordless...

My Quest For The Best Oil on the Planet

I wouldn't do extended drains on any GDI engine, doesn't matter how good the oil is soot is bad for your timing chains.

Ha. It's actually not as thick as you'd think, even cold it pours quite fast.

Mazda dealership overfilled my transmission (with pictures)

That fluid looks trashed, it needs two more drain and fills at least.
