Are DIY friendly autos going to become a trend?

They are all DIY until something breaks. I take care of 4 vehicles for family and as an example, starter went out so I had to remove exhaust. Battery goes out, alternator and battery needs coded together. I told wife that I need to spend thousands so I can reprogram next computer wiped by...

    John Deere 10w30

K46. Honestly I am not worried as I have plenty of warranty. My T200, I believe, in John Deere D110 is still going strong with 250 hours. It has been worked hard and so has my X350. I cut a ditch that is across the front of our 2 acres. Haul a trailer on it 90%of the time when 48"mower is not on...

    Porsche Cayenne - Rear BCM

According to my Autel it can code your Porsche. There are others as well, just have to see what you are willing to spend. Dealers are expensive so buying a scanner for your vehicle would pay off in the long run.

    John Deere 10w30

That's one reason I purchased the kit as it seemed cheaper and easier than hunting parts down.

    John Deere 10w30

No just recommended by tech. I am not worried about engine oil can cause out of warranty, just it's cheaper to buy the kit from John Deere and they can't say a bad filter or lack of maintenance caused issue. John Deere doesn't like anyone working on there equipment, however i do all my own work...

    John Deere 10w30

Anyone using JD10w30? I found the kit was cheaper for my X350 and since under warranty why not. Looks like Chevron Supreme according to the MSDs and a boiling point of 405. Chevron site states its oil is for rigors use in lawnmowers.

    LT245/70/R17 VS. P265/70/R17 for use on F150

The only way different tire sizes give different seat of the pants feel, is the differential gearing. With taller tires the gear ratio might be 323 however if you have shorter tires gear ratio could be 273. So if you put 33 inch tires on 273 ratio it would be sluggish, however if 410 it feels...

    Dealers and Warranty Work

Dealerships are a training ground for someone who wants to be a tech. I worked at different Dealerships for 25 years. Work at one that was busy and when it slowed, went to another and got a raise on top of it. Made alot of money with Toyota. Cadillac didn't like I could do door blend motors in...

Mechanic praise, they do no wrong

I don't watch him anymore. He is a butcher. He had a vehicle with CV axel boot seeping and ordered a new axel. When he couldn't get new axel he went on vacation and left customer. Wouldn't just replace boot. Last one broke me. He put an oil cooler in a Caravan and used a hammer to set in place...

    Oil Filter Change Interval Clarification/Input

If you don't want to keep track of mileage, get a scanner and change the percentage from 100 to 50. You can then wait for the oil change light. That is my way as 5k never comes at same time. Since I am now out of warranty I will set mine at 60 and not worry about yearly changes. Since new I have...

    Corolla Cross

Ford worked 50 50 with Mazda for the new Ranger and Bronco in Thailand for Australia before bringing them to the states. No one builds vehicles alone. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/AutoAlliance_Thailand[/URL

    Corolla Cross

First off I was working for Toyota when Tundra came out and always stated Ford had a say in their trucks when it came to production of full size pickups. Ford was and is involved with Mazda and now the Corolla Cross is made by Ford. Oops meant Mazda.
