Shop Vac Surges only when turned on

I took the motor out and turned it on. Assuming my nomenclature is correct one of the brushes looks to be rubbing against the commutator because there is a constant blueish white spark with occasional orange flecks flying off of it. I’m guessing the burned specks are the electrical smell. I...

Shop Vac Surges only when turned on

This will be a new adventure as my knowledge of electric motors is extremely limited. I have only recently learned (thanks to BITOG) that electric motors require oiling, so I will see about disassembling the vac until I can access each end of the motor and see what oiling does. Also will have...

Shop Vac Surges only when turned on

Lowe's shop vac. When I first turn it on (and am not vacuuming) the motor runs, then slows down and almost dies, then runs back up and does fine. There is an "electric odor" when this happens, but those are the only symptoms - no unusual noises, no screeching. Just a loud shop vac. I took the...

    Foam Cannons

I bought one and would put in the gimmick column if you don’t typically use your pressure washer on your car. I used it when I washed my house and deck and it worked very well for that purpose. I would recommend one for house or deck washing.......

    Wax longevity?

Waxed the car today with Collinite 845. Doggone you don’t much of it to do a van. Been averaging 4-5 months durability with it. I bought some Turtle wax spray wax.....curious to see how it lasts. Tried the Mother’s AIO wax last year and was disappointed in the durability. It smelled good...

A large paint mixer that fits in a drill motor. Mix Paint, mix concrete, whip up car wash soap......the thing is doggone handy... Second would be a rubber mallet Third would be a small ball peen hammer. Made me realize that most of my hammers are too large for the job.....
