My experience is water in the fuel or bad fuel. I would dump the gas and refill and that usually fixed it.....

Recently read about DuPont Teflon spray as a dry spray lubricant. Must admit it is intriguing and I can see advantages in a dry lubricant in certain situations. When one of my other spray lubes runs empty I think will try it.....

Well, I don’t understand the engineering to be honest. My wheels would turn (albeit slowly) when I held it off the ground. I reversed the gears and it fixed it. I would “flip” one gear and see if that wheel behaves properly -see it it moves in both directions by hand before changing the other...

Those keys and springs are interesting engineering...I can’t get it straight in my head how/why they work..... you have to flip the gears around. The part facing outside should be facing inside.

This just happened to me with my Lawn Boy after replacing the tranny.....:cool: On my mower there are small drive gears on the axle at each rear wheel and I initially installed them backwards with your identical symptom. Pulled the wheels removed the gear, flipped it around and that fixed it...

Just completed installing new gear and axle. Only had to redo it once after putting it in backwards. 🙃🙃 Everything works!!! Hopefully it will last another 15 years. Do tecumseh engines last???

Below are results from 50 blows with a small sledgehammer and 50 blows with a ball peen hammer. No discernible movement. I’ve ordered a replacement transmission (with gear mounted on axle) and will replace it as a unit..... I’ll probably try something more drastic in the future unless someone...
