Mobil1 Truck & SUV now available @ Walmart

The oil might be priced weird right now because retailers are just getting the product. The price will probably come down over the next few weeks, especially if Wal-Mart stocks it on store shelves. Don't freak out yet.

    Best cleaning oil?

All modern engine oils that meet current specifications have cleaning properties. Considering the motor's age, as long as it isn't excessively consuming oil, I wouldn't worry about it.

    Shell Rotella Gas Truck

The flow chart cracks me up. Do you haul or tow?: NO Well, it really should be YES and you need to buy this motor oil.

Do you label your oil filters when installing them?

Most of our equipment has a maintenance minder but I still write engine hours on the filters if it has a spin on. John Deere's 8R tractors have cartridge oil filters, so you just have go to by what the computer says. I like to mark the date on pickup oil filters, but I forget to half the...

How clean is the new oil you use?

People sure are jumping to a lot of conclusions over a non-randomized sample size of one.

amazon basics 5-40 not as good

Maybe the motor needs to be looked at by a professional. Just because an engine oil doesn't cover up a symptom of a potential mechanical issue with an engine doesn't make it a bad oil.

    dealer short me half quart

As long as the dealership didn't charge you for engine oil they didn't put in, if the level is in the operating range, just drive the car.

    Motorcraft "New" Formulation-"New" Specs

More or less, Ford reformulated their oil and the accompanying alphabet soup motor oil specification on new Ford vehicles for API SN-Plus.

    Next Level Protection?

GM's oil life monitor (OLM) has been around for 30 years, and is on millions of vehicles. There's nothing wrong with it. The system will adjust for temperature and driving style, and adjust accordingly. Plenty of people have posted used oil analysis reports, and the monitor was pretty much spot...
