    2023 1.5/CVT Malibu Rental car.

Glad to see the Malibu is going to be offered in 2025, but still largely unchanged. The price point for an LS is about a cheap as most subcompacts. Sub $25k now, like to approach $23k soon.

What vehicles are your local police department purchasing now?

Ours transitioned from Crown Vics to Explorers, but I'm not seeing any new generation Explorers. I read on Wiki they have a 3.3l police package offering on the current generation. Not sure how a twin turbo ecoboost would hold up for that duty. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Cyclone_engine...

    Would you buy a hybrid?

Too bad 2 of the most mentioned hybrids, Prius & Maverick, can’t be had here anytime soon even at full MSRP

    Corolla or Civic?

Congrats on the Mazda! We've owned many Corollas. Undoubtably one of the most reliable cars made, but I have a bad back and never could get comfortable in a Corolla. How's the seating position and visibility in the Mazda3?

2025 Ford Maverick - New Changes

Are there any projections indicating a base model XL hybrid (or any XL) availability will improve anytime soon? I'm NEVER paying greater than MSRP for any vehicle.

    Bought a new Tundra

Why approx. 100k engines? Did they change their manufacturing process? https://www.cnn.com/2024/07/26/business/toyota-recall-engine-replacement-tundra-trucks-lexus-suv/index.html Perhaps the OP won't experience the problems the earlier engines experienced. I'd like to flame the OP, but it...

'24 Malibu. Bought and installed black wheel-skins over the existing silver rims. Man, i really like it.

Off topic ... are you happy with the 24 Malibu? What trim level is it?

    Would you buy a hybrid?

I’m not there yet. Toyota hybrids are proven to be exceptional, and I suspect the new Camry will be as well. Guess I’m just too old to adapt to new technologies.

    Subaru Outback vs Forester

Overpriced Few owners use its off road capabilities

    2025 Civic

    Can't you turn that off?

Are there any moderately/low priced 2024/25 new vehicles without the auto start/stop "feature"?

Just my luck. Mazdas don't have it, but they added AWD to most. Don't need that in the deep south.

    2025 Civic

The 2025 gas HR-V is out. Was very disappointed that it didn't even get a facelift as expected.

Are there any moderately/low priced 2024/25 new vehicles without the auto start/stop "feature"?

Being able to turn it off doesn’t negate the fact a significant amount of $ was baked into installing this ridiculously “feature” that most will turn off if they’re able to do so.

I'm starting to think the lore of the dreaded Nissan/Infiniti CVT woes are a bit exaggerated

Guess we won't know if the new CVT (2024) reliability has improved for a while. https://www.motortrend.com/news/2024-nissan-sentra-efficient-cvt/
