Can flooring a cold car engine cause cold seizure?

I have had like 5-6 spun bearing issues this year alone. Pretty bananas on the amount

Dealership Maintenance Pricing - Local Variations

Those a b c service packages are great $ makers for techs and shops. It makes it easy for the good customers that do whatever we tell them to ask for. Good customers want to take care of their car by the book many times and just pay the cost when they pick it up. We as techs appreciate their...

Anyone else just buy enough gas to get home?

Yep ev in California if in the budget total no brainer as is solar. I got a solar quote in Indiana and laughed and told them this isn’t ca or HI electric rates here. Would almost likely never make that investment back unless rates seriously increased

    New tool thread

Dewalt dcf921. This is the atomic 20v 1/2 drive impact. I love the 3/8 and I got this for a great price with a power stack compact battery and charger. If I was an octopus I could use all these battery impacts much more efficiently

    Headlight upgrades for older vehicles

Honestly last bad headlamp vehicle I had it was a truck as well. I ended up putting hella 500 lights on the bumper just a set of 2 and had them wired via relay to headlamps. The output was amazing compared to before and was aimed properly with no issues. Just something different to think about

    Honda factory brake pads GG-rated

The pilots and odyssey are just prone to this by most drivers. Not all just many many. Those OE pads love to leave deposits on rotors then you get your rotor warped feel If you can stand brake dust and/or actually clean your wheels and car then semi metallic should work better in most cases...

13K miles in an ev6 GT

The EV6 is very uncommon here in central Indiana as well. The Rivians both models are everywhere None of the local dealers to me have a GT would have to travel to even test drive or purchase one. Then the fact that buyers will likely get 7500 off a Tesla performance model in a few months may...

    Hub Buster

Yep I got one. Used it a few times works good in some cases. In your relatively rust free area would work well just another tool for the chest

60x more likely to be stolen than the average car...

Best one I’ve seen so far. Had a hellcat that was stolen being worked on for the insurance claim. Tech was done with it and parked it outside by the body shop area. Next day body shop asked him where he parked it. You know the next part. Yep…was stolen again

    BMW B58 Engine Oil Recommendation

Maybe others like @edyvw know if this is good oil or not. Looks to be being vw 504/507. One of the lower priced oils I can remember at that spec

    Will this Strike Kill Ford/Chevy/Chrysler?

Likely won’t kill them. However I am being affected by it. The parts warehouse is strike in Chicago area and parts we would normally get the next day are not coming quickly or at all. No parts = no fixing cars. That hurts the customer owner of the vehicle as they can’t get it back. And hurts...

HPL tranny fluid for ATF +4 applications

Regarding atf+4 in the RFE transmissions. In the field I’m not really seeing fluid failures in the units. Usually a hard part issue. Valve sticking in valve body or pump, snap ring dislodged, seal knicked slightly on assembly, solenoid or transducer issue, Over running clutch failure from being...

    Pentastar 3.6 lifter tick

Exactly way less 3.6 rams out there than 3.6 other vehicles. Also a lot of rams are being repaired by fleet shops as they are fleet vehicles and not being reported by DIYs

    Hercules cordless

Couple comparo size pics of the 3/8 impact The dewalt is much shorter. Snap on ct9010 approx same. Power seems about the same. Maybe more for the Hercules. Now I do know they snap on, just came out with a new 3/8 stubby with increased power. I haven’t had a chance to try it it’s 8 something...

    Looking for lawn edger

Stihl stick here. Bought last year been great. I’m good at string trimmer use as well but between that and several 100s of feet of metal fencing it eats up some line Find the edger works for the heavy edging. Can follow weeks after with string trimmer Wouldn’t bother with a cordless or...
