    BuzzBallz - anyone tried them?

Yeah, we pick them up in packs. We usually do a round with the other parents at the kids sports once in awhile. Not much in them, but fun to knock back. Good to have around for the morning games.

Percentage of people that do their own vehicle maintenance at home.

I think it's very few. Maybe 10-15% overall.

How and when do you pay your property taxes?

This thread is entertaining. We're at about 3.4% of (alleged) market value. Only going up as we keep approving referendums. 21 different taxes on the bill. Schools are 67% of the bill. Paid through escrow.

Could this be UHaul's plan for a bigger vehicle hauling trailer in 2025?

The people of IL will be very excited. Exodus is our thing!

    Ring security system

I like ours. I'm going to add another to get the top half of the driveway. It caught a coyote hanging out of the front porch one night, which was pretty cool.

    Graffiti Taggers

We had an issue on a local, closed Sam's Club. A 10' wall of pink paint solved it. These clowns won't paint on pink walls. Quick removal also seems to work well, but requires the property owner to get on it.

People saying to change your oil at 1000 miles on new vehicle.

Only owned one new car and changed the oil before 1000 miles. Because I took control of what was in there. Whenever I bring a previously owned car home, I swap out everything in the first week.

Overhead a woman telling another woman her dream job is a Stay At Home Mom

My wife likes a lot of nice things. She has to work so we can buy them. It would quite a lifestyle change if we were single income. LOL. "Stay at home mom" was brought up once. What that was going to look like ended the conversation quickly.

Do engineers not make good money anymore?

My employer had a tough time filing a Civil Engineer position. They posted it at $155k and no one would accept because we do not offer "work from home". We had to fill it internally with someone with only five years experience at $30k less.

Nine over around here gets you tailgated and hand gestures are sent your way.

    Time for a new car?

Gosh, there isn't enough miles or time on that thing for me to even considering buying it!

    kids/childrens' sports / thoughts

We're a baseball family. My wife and I both played softball every weekend into our 40s and then passed the torch to our son. When every thing (equipment, travel, food, fuel, etc.) is added up it likely costs us over $10k a year. And it's worth every penny of it.

Housing permits approved by state per capita

We have several 400k-500k townhome developments going up and the units are sold before construction is completed.

Housing permits approved by state per capita

While the number of single family building permit applications isn't what it is in other states, there is a huge demand here for rentals. The next generation up prefers renting and we have multi-family buildings going up everywhere. Illinois Policy is useful for getting information about how...

    A pleasant McDonalds experience!

The app is so good that I go there a couple of times a week. It was off my list for awhile.

    Pro football absurdities

I don't know why they even do kickoffs. They are silly. Give the ball to the team at the 20 or 25 and move on. The FG kickers are so good now, there's no urgency to get to the end zone. If you make to just past mid field, you can still score points. TD's just aren't necessary. While I'm...

    Blackstone Labs

The last couple of samples I sent in took four weeks or so. The second one I was expecting to, so it wasn't a big deal.

    Amazon return at UPS store

I'm surprised they took an item like that back. Usually, the weird sized ones they just tell you to keep. Just weird that a store wouldn't take the item. I'd avoid them for every use.
