    Exhaust and Intake Valve Diameters

A naturally aspirated engine intake depends on a column of air at approximately 14.75 inches PSI rushing in to fill a void created by the piston being pulled down in the cylinder. The exhaust empties into the relative void of the exhaust system while also being pushed out by the piston. A side...

Illinois woman’s property tax is poised to pop from $756 to over $10,000

I`m old and have land that's in currant use assessment and I`m not hoarding. The land supports fruit, berries and a modest garden along with a timber harvest every 30 years or so. A tax is imposed on the sale of said timber. I`m not alone in any of this and resent any implication above...

    Examples of "low quality" oil?

The company I worked for had us get the vans serviced at Valvoline quick change which didn`t cause any engine problems but teach us to not bring our POV`s there. So the oils quality isn`t suspect just the experience.

Old 6.2L GM military truck ... Talk me out of this......

The 1993 version of that engine family was 6.5 L with a turbo and mechanical injection. this engine with 3:23 or 3:08 gears would allow better road manners. Then again stock may be more sensible esp if something else catches your eye.

    New PowerStroke Owner

It would seem changing the oil filter at 1,000 miles or even 1500 then cutting open the filter open to see what if anything was trapped. Other than that use the OEM.

Used oil in oil-burning lawn mower

The world won`t end using used oil in a clapped out B/S engine However, here we use no-name cheapo 20/50 in a situation like that. Have a 12 HP in the barn waiting for it`s next duty station. Might re-ring if the mood strikes.

Excess Flow Valve - Natural Gas

So many questions, as stated before the utility owns up to and including the meter. Is this a low pressure system or is there a regulator before the meter? In most high pressure systems there is already a an excess flow device. The amount of pressure carried in the system is determinant of what...

Truck won't stay started (suspected alternator)

Focusing on fuel problems without checking battery voltage at engine shutdown won`t be helpful, like someone else said the lights out issue is relevant.

Truck won't stay started (suspected alternator)

Perhaps a couple of simple tests. When the engine stalls check the voltage at the battery posts not the clamps this will tell you if the battery is losing power. If this test shows 12 volts or better push the red positive lead of the voltmeter into the side of the positive battery clamp then...
