Netflix No Longer Wants to Treat Employees Like Family. No Kidding.

Based on my time in the "working" sector, as an employee, supervisor, manager, and owner - I've found the most important thing is communication of expectations. This includes not just measurements of performance, but a true, deep understanding of the job itself and what the job entails. The...

Netflix No Longer Wants to Treat Employees Like Family. No Kidding.

https://www.businessinsider.com/netflix-new-culture-memo-keeper-test-changes-2024-6?op=1 You know, we've talked a lot on BITOG about employers not being able to find employees. Blamed all kinds of things. But there is no way I would like to perform "above expectations" and be paid at...

The cycle continues. Prices are now dropping as companies have pushed as much as they could.

Exactly my point. The cycle continues because no one remembers except old people. The cycle is too long and memories are too short. This time it will be different, etc... Banks too big to fail, tech stocks are "different", always the next "big thing" that is going to rewrite economic theory...

    Tipping at Fast Food Places

Please start your own thread on this topic. Let's not get political and muddy up this thread. This topic is related to tipping at fast food places and not on taxes, or any other political issue related to tipping. Thanks.

Wow, those reviews are very telling. Guy sounds like a jerk on steroids with a Napoleon complex.

The cycle continues. Prices are now dropping as companies have pushed as much as they could.

I've seen this since the 1970s: Prices go up and companies squeeze all they can from an external "event" (gas crisis, S&L crisis, etc.) - anything that causes "logistics" issues. Oh, and record profits! Then wages try to catch up - finally making some headway. People become price conscious...

    How many Components are rebuildable?

Money versus your time. Most people don't have the patience to do the job right the first time, and then just buy a complete unit after they mess up the first time. I only rebuild if a new unit is not available because of what atikovi says about the tools. I always need new tools though!

Florida car insurance increasing at alarming rate ...

Yep. It's called gentrification. Just on a macro scale, not neighborhood. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gentrification This has been going on since Columbus landed in the NE. Populations will naturally migrate based on declining resources (of their definition) to areas of higher resources...

Directly from the "Dealers are on Crack files".....

The pricing cycle will continue. On a micro scale, no telling why this price is so high. Prices for food items are dropping here, as are car prices. Walmart is dropping prices all over the store to lure people back in. Competition is heating up to get customers to buy. Lowe's and Home...

If you are really interested in this, file a FOIA with the town. The cost will be worth what you find out, if you are so inclined.

    Mens PSA, Prostate health

I like this doctor's personal experience write-up. I agree that we all need to discuss this topic more, even though it's sort of taboo among men. https://www.fusfoundation.org/posts/meet-ken-gerontology-expert-opts-for-focused-ultrasound-to-treat-prostate-cancer/

PWMDMD, thanks for that article. I especially like the conclusions ! "4. HIFU (in the US at that time) that Luke found was only available at Duke University as a research study, and they would not qualify him for the study as they said he was not a good candidate. He told me they said it was not "legal" for use in the US for his type of cancer and said he only had...

HIFU is also an option - much lower side effects and it works. A friend had this done in Mexico years ago, before it was allowed in the US. He has been in excellent health ever since. https://www.mountsinai.org/care/urology/services/minimally-invasive/hifu Back story: His PSA level starting...
