Ford EcoBoost 2.0 - What off the shelf oil for "longer" OCIs?

Please tell us what’s so special about d1G3 when it can’t even protect GM’s own engines from self-destructing?

Ford EcoBoost 2.0 - What off the shelf oil for "longer" OCIs?

Mostly city-ish. Technically they’re state highways, but with stop signs every half mile to 2 miles, IMO it qualifies as city but it’s not idling in traffic. Truck averages about 19.6 mpg.

Ford EcoBoost 2.0 - What off the shelf oil for "longer" OCIs?

Not all EcoBoosts dilute the oil with fuel. My 3.5 EB had a GCMS of <1% fuel on a 14.4k mile OCI.

    Psychic's? Believe or not?

If they were really psychic, I wouldn’t have to call those folks on TV for critical advice. They’d give me a ring.

    Lets talk about Bourbon

Just found this at the local shack. I was eyeing another bottle of Old Forester 1920 when I saw this a few bottles away. I’m a sucker for OF’s taste profile anyways, so I decided the price premium was worth the admission. I wasn’t wrong! Quite possibly the finest single barrel bourbon I’ve ever...

U.S. world's largest oil producer at over 20 percent.

That propaganda said “Peak Oil” occurred in 1974 or something like that. I think the reports are about 20% truth and 80% supporting higher prices thru fear.

Best shocks for cushy ride in half ton truck

And yet on the flipside, they offer a complete suspension lift for THREE different Subaru models, which combined sell about 1/5th of the F-150’s yearly total. Once you toss in the current BroDozer fad, the actual market for the F150 vs 3 Subaru models is probably 10X in favor of the Fords… Right...

Best shocks for cushy ride in half ton truck

IronMan doesn't make any shocks for the F-150, so any benefits of them are moot for literally the largest single market they could expand into. Millions upon millions of potential customers without any product available seems like a big miss, IMO.

Mobil 1 0W-20 AFE Oil Consumption

It’s well-documented that some vehicles are more prone to consumption when switching brands as the chemistry/tribology does its thing. The only way to know for certain if it was an AFE thing with your vehicle would have been to run it 3 or more oil changes in a row. Generally speaking, the...

12pk Liqui Moly Motor Saver on Amazon

Again, why buy “inexpensive” oils that can create other problems down the road from where that oil cut corners, and then dump in a product that’s effectively adding ~30% to the cost of oil changes after you have to start using it? The technology is out there for ALL oil companies to make...

    BITOG wisdom/sage advice.

Talking to Grandpa, who owned several sailboats and trawler-type boats during my entire life, when I said someday I’d like to have a boat: Grandpa: “Do you know what a boat is?” Me: Uhhh, well yeah… (DUH) Gp: “No you don’t. A boat is a hole in the water that you throw money into”

    Thicker oil=lower oil temps?

Extra heat is “extra” and will obviously take longer.

    Thicker oil=lower oil temps?

No, thicker oil will retain heat longer and also heat up at a faster rate.

Ok, and for that small fraction of panels, 15 years down the road, where are they going? Landfill. It’s an inescapable destiny at some point.
