    1976 GMC Royale

These were only Olds 455s until '77, then the Olds 403 (shorter deck, smaller main bearings) was used, IIRC.

Might purchase a 1991 Buick Reatta

I've been amazed at the number of nice ones I've found scrapped here. Does the HVAC system use the CRT control in the '91? I can't recall the evolution of the dash changes.

'08 Silverado 4.8 - Bad Converter - Opinions on Magnaflow Converter

A different GM application, but the direct fit Magnaflow on my Buick V6 seems very well made and has passed emissions easily since 2018. Definitely more free flowing than the original, but not too loud. It did surprise me. The original rattled at 200K, now at 258K.

How Does A/C work on a Carb vehicle?

That would not surprise me, as the old fittings (50s-60s GM) with A/C gear clamps are not recommended with R134a either. The fittings and crimps were completely different from the original (10/83 build) on the GM (Goodyear Galaxy) hose set for my '84 Caprice.

How Does A/C work on a Carb vehicle?

GM did as well during the '84 model year (at least some car lines). The hoses that were "Goodyear Galaxy" were barrier hoses. My early '84 did not have them. The crimps were greatly improved as well.

2018 f150, amsoil into 10r80 trans and rear differential, 29000 miles

The GM version of the transmission uses Dexron ULV. I have the 10 speed in my 2019 Yukon Denali. I fully expected to dislike the transmission, but have been very happy with it, so far. I only have 17K miles on it.

Best year for GMC Yukon XL with 6.2L

And technically, it is considered an LT (Gen V) starting in 2014, which is also direct injected. I've got an L86 6.2L. It definitely gets better mileage on premium. Mine is an early 2019. I would guess I'm lucky, as the AFM has been trouble prone enough. Later engines (L87) got the DFM along...

    Uniroyal Tiger paw

I have seen that in the past and enjoyed it. I also have an older Century with a Buick 3300 and it is like a different (better) car. I had some odd OEM Goodyear 70 series tires that were used on Caprices and Eldorado touring coupes new. That is one of the reasons I won't buy Goodyear either...

    Uniroyal Tiger paw

Our mileage went up noticeably when we replaced them with Michelin's (besides getting rid of the shaking and vibrations).

    Uniroyal Tiger paw

Original equipment on our 1996 Buick Century (P195/75R14). Wore like iron, but perpetually out of round and shaking. They were so bad, GM even sent a TSB to dealers about them. Picked the car up from warranty service and noticed a new tire on it. Asked and got the story from the service writer...

    Les Schwab pricing/value

I've noticed this loyalty as well. I've guessed it was due to a lack of competition in more rural areas, along with the service they had provided in the past.

Replace the A/C Compressor or just the O-rings?

You have a V5 compressor. The front shaft seal can leak, though this compressor had a very good double lip seal new. The body o-ring(s) leak due to the bare compressor body corroding and the corrosion creeping under the sealing surface. Some people have good luck splitting halves and sanding the...
