Fram EG with silicone ADBV pics

Wal-Mart stores in this area have the new design Extra Guard with silicone ADBV for most applications, though there are some older ones left on the shelf selling at the same price so buyer beware. Just look for new packaging and double check the box contents. I noticed the packaging now mentions...

10,000 OCI with stock Toyota cartridge filter??

Yes, the Toyota OE filter will be fine for 10,000 miles. That is their recommended oil change interval for most 2010 and later cars when using synthetic 0w-20 oil (really fine with any synthetic).

Mobil 1 vs Fran Ultra oil filters

No question for me... I would go with the Fram Ultra. Much better media and construction. I also like the sure grip paint. Mobil 1 filters are not bad, but I think they're riding on their name when you consider the modern high-end synthetic media filters on the market.

Hyundai Canister Oil Filter vs. Fram Ultra ?

The Fram Ultra will be fine and is one of the best filters on the market. You won't see a difference in oil pressure. Hyundai filters are built very well, but aren't really that special, especially when it comes to filtration efficiency. The infamous Hyundai/Kia oil filter TSB often gets blown...

    Carquest 85348 (910S equvalent)

Since they aren't rusty, use them. I would trust an 8 year old WIX in good visual shape more than a brand new Purolator the way things have been going lately.

I put rain x in the coolant reservoir

I would also say you are good to go, especially since you cleaned it out. Speaking of washer fluid in the coolant, I wonder how many Honda cars are running around with this condition since their OE coolant is blue. Used to be able to go by color for most major fluids... those days are long gone.

Why did Ford go from 5W20 to 5W30?

Ford isn't the only one calling for 5w-30 in turbo GDI engines and 5w-20 in others. I suspect fuel dilution concerns are one of the reasons and wouldn't be surprised to see them go back to 5w-20 once all the LSPI issues are fixed, as these issues are why turbo GDI engines tend to run a rich tune...

    CarMax scam?

CarMax will never make an offer close to what you could get on a private party sale. Unless your car is fairly new and with low miles, there's a good chance it goes to auction so they still won't be getting anywhere near retail value out of it. They do not focus on selling older or high mileage...
