Has anyone cut open the new wix xp? From what I know, they went from the full synthetic media to just a synthetic blend media like the pure one oil filters.

I’ve been to a lot of car shows and I’ve seen my fair share of extra guards on beautiful classic American muscle. That or Oem filters. The only ones you can really see from the top easily are the fords mostly

I think that may be an old stock hengst. I believe the new ones are made in Mexico and the quality is lacking

That spring looks to be smooth to me I’m no sure it wouldn’t seal

The last FE7317 I cut open didn’t have the crimped bypass so I think they caught it and stopped or it’s based on model

When I was a technician, people would sometimes provide the oil and filter during and out of warranty. As long as there’s paper trail or digital, I don’t see an issue running a larger filter

Efficiency is seeming to be less of an issue these days. I tend to only run filters 3-5k max so I don’t really care

Has anyone here used this Mazda filter on their Hondas? Seems the consensus is that Toyo Roki filters are top tier, and this filter N3R1-14-302 crosses to the Wix 57356 size which is also for Honda.

I doubt it. He still uses Wix and praises them relentlessly. Wise on his part since he’s sponsored by Oreillys and gets his stuff for cost or next to nothing

Kinda but not really seeing as how some of the stp filters are still being produced by champ labs and Fram. I have no issue with using the ph or tg varients
