I used to throw out the guy who showed up for a bid in a Mercedes. Then one day a guy told me when he came in to the office that his Mercedes was cheaper than the Ford pickup he was looking at. He was right! I never did that again. Lesson learned!

But when you get stuck with a awd/4wd you get stuck worse. I told this to one of our news photographers renting a 4wd to cover a big snow storm..."Best thing to do is, drive in two wheel drive and if you get stuck, you put it in 4wd back out and go home."

AWD get's you going faster, but you still stop like a two wheel drive!

Have you seen the hills in a shopping mall parking lot?

Mine is wired to the voltage regulator which is mounted on the side of the flywheel cover near the battery. It looks like half of an M-80 firecracker and is red in color and just hangs there loosely.

Cover it with glued on carpeting, that'll help hold it together.

Did you inspect the tire for any thing stuck in the tread? I had new Michelins on my Volvo and went thru a parking lot where they had just put down crack sealer with no signage and I an over it. A four inch patch of wet sealer was packed in each of the 4 tires. It felt like all four were...

Don't forget heater blower motor too...if there is one. Turn signal relay, again if there is one.

Are the sparkplugs tight?

Does it have hubcaps? If so, remove and see if it continues. Sometimes the flex of the hubcap can make these noises.

Has the car been repainted in that area?

99 % of them aren't bedded in. Some performance cars maybe.
