whatever method to hold it on should be within its design specs and good enough. Just put it on and assemble. the thing not to do is monkey with it after you do the burn in. the thin layer of paste on the heat sync is only there to fill in microgaps between the rough or uneven metal surfaces.

newer vehicles have smart charging so the alternator will unload at times to save fuel. when this happens the blower is running from battery when alternator kicks in you get a couple more volts and it speeds up.

Liquid splashing around the tank draws heat from a pump motor that continously runs. a mostly empty tank cools that pump much less and the recirculating hot fuel that goes thru the pump does not contact the MOTOR ...you know ....the HOT part. Different vehicles have different pumps so YMMV but...
