I've never changed the oil in either Prius but that being said I've just returned from Walmart with a five quart jug of 0w-20 Valvoline Restore and Protect for the 2010.

I wouldn't say stupid, but this is obviously excessive. A 5K OCI is excessive in most cases, but it isn't stupid either.
