That is correct. I purchased it at Tractor Supply.

    Mobil1 EP 5w-30 5036 Miles 2016 Accord

There was no make up oil and the dipstick level didn't move in either direction. Usually I take the car for a 3-5 mile drive to warm and stir things up prior to the change. This sample was taken after a 40 mile drive which might explain lower level of fuel in the oil.

    Mobil1 EP 5w-30 5036 Miles 2016 Accord

Yes - most of the earlier reports were 0w-20. Final viscosities with 0w-20 and fuel dilution weren't to my liking. It's going to be xw-30 going forward starting with 0w-30 HPL PPCMO in a few weeks.

    Mobil1 EP 5w-30 5036 Miles 2016 Accord

This is the latest report on my Son's 2016 Honda Accord. The vehicle had 63,084 miles at the time the sample was drawn. The oil wasn't changed at the time but a quart was removed to make way for a quart of HPL EC30. Note that the vehicle had been driven only 10k miles in the past three years...

    Blackstone Labs

My most recent sample sent to Blackstone arrived on a Saturday two weeks ago. Two after receipt of the sample I pinged them on a Sunday via email for a status update. I had the results in my inbox by Monday afternoon. Perhaps this is just a coincidence but it seems odd that they can have a...

Post your latest small engine oil change

I have ten years and 305 hours on a D140 with the same engine. The plastic cap on the drain tube is weeping a little bit. Not dripping but wet. How about yours? Presently I run 15w-40 RT6 for one season and a Tough Guard 3614 filter for two seasons.

    Post your latest oil change

Step #2 of the conversion to HPL complete. 5400 miles on the 5w-30 M1 EP including 400 miles with a dose of EC30. The Fram XG7317 was replaced with a TG7317. OLM is at 50%. The plan is to run the mix with EC30 until either 40% on the OLM or morning temperatures consistently in the twenties...

Why is there no 0W16 high mileage oil yet?

The DIY market for 0w-16 is still relatively small and thus the market for a high mileage version would be vastly smaller. Alternatively maybe the high mileage version is a 0w-20?

    John Deere D140 : AM107423 vs Fram PH3614

You are seriously overthinking this thing. The D140 and D160 use the same 724cc V-Twin engine. Those small differences in gasket diameters are irrelevant based upon many, many posts here on BITOG not to mention my own experience. That being said, if you can easily find the filter of your...

Are John Deere branded lawn tractor batteries OK?

My D140 came with a JD branded 195 CCA battery in 2015. At the start of the 2019 mowing season that battery was so weak that I could jump start it but it wouldn't engage the PTO clutch. I replaced that with the Walmart brand 230 CCA U1 battery with a date code of 3/19 in April 2019 at a cost...

    Finally making the HPL plunge

That sounds like a reasonable plan to me. Presently I am doing something similar with a 2016 Honda Accord. The only major differences between your plan and mine are a) change the oil filter about a week after adding the EC30, and b) limiting the run with the EC30 to closer to 1000 miles...

    Generator and tiller

See https://support.troybilt.com/s/article/273-1?language=en_US for the recommendations from MTD. That being said, this thread on BITOG addresses the GL4 vs GL5 question. I've been topping mine up with 85w-140 GL5 for years.

    John Deere D140 : AM107423 vs Fram PH3614

I used the JD filter when swapping out the factory fill. Next up was the Wix 51348 for two seasons. The last eight seasons have been run with the Fram TG3614. I average only 30 hours per year on my unit so lately I've been running the TG3614 for two seasons. As for oil, it was 10w-30 Mobil1...

Yes - my last sample was there for two weeks before I pinged them via email. This was on 1 March 2024. I received a response the next day. As of 26 October they have another sample of mine and I will ping them again if there are no results in the inbox after two weeks. Say what you like...

    Generator oil?

I have a Champion 4000/3500 with a Chonda 196 cc engine. It started with 10w-30 M1 HM but has been switched to 5-40 RT6. This unit hasn't been called upon to save our bacon in the last six years. I believe it has between 50 and 80 hours on it. I also have a Predator inverter 3500/3000 unit...

EV charging example costs more than it would to fill up a premium fuel car

It's always a pleasure to have a discussion with someone who is well informed. From what I have seen your grid relies on a lot of expensive imported power at night whereas mine is dominated by nuclear. Your grid is totally dominated by solar during the day. You would think that the TOU rates...
