I would do 2/3rds M1 0W-40 and 1/3rd X2 5W-50 or something like that. They have identical additive packages and I was told by an engineer you can mix as desired. If you’re going straight 0W-40 I would use ESP X4 which is 3.8 HTHS but you can only get it cheaply via Autozone special.

They will damage anything short of a ceramic coating with repeated use. With a ceramic coating, they can’t remove it, but they can degrade its repellency over time with many uses. I would use them only when you need them. I think monthly is probably ok if you really need, but perhaps not weekly.
