2016 Subaru STi 41k mi; Castrol Euro 0w-40 3.3k mi

Lot of idling, lot of redlining, lot of short drives + a 500 mile roadtrip. The car is my daily driver now and is short tripped to and from work (7 miles one way). Can't complain! I do use an oil catch can, but haven't emptied it in over 15k miles as it still has barely anything in it.

    2018 BMW X1 s28i, 65.3k miles, 8.2k miles OCI Motul Xcess Gen2 5w-40 LL01

Ill drive 30minutes next time before draining. I assumed getting to operating temp good enough but prob needs to maintain operating temp for some time to fully burn off the water / fuel.

About 15minutes in 80f weather. Probably not enough to fully burn off all the fuel probably ?

Decided to stretch this interval out longer this time - looks to be decent still. But I probably will keep it at 8k-9k intervals here on out. Car sees a lot of stop and go and short cold starts from moving the car out of garage daily. It also does see a few road trips as well, so overall, mixed use.

    2018 Bmw X1 s28i, 57.1k miles, 6.4k miles OCI Motul Xcess Gen 2 5w40 LL01

Yes, my gym is in the garage so the car gets started few times per week whenever I work out. Also, kids have their classes / events which are all local so plenty of very short drives that dont get fully warmed up drives. It's an absolute daily driver that gets treated like a tool. I hate doing...

yep keeping it at this interval to catch any differences in trends. so far so good.

Just another UOA to share. Nothing to report really. Frequent short tripped with many cold starts just to move the car everyday out of the garage + a few long distance weekend trips. Also lot of idle time. Motul 5w40 Xcess Gen 2 LL01 has done just fine in the B48 across the last 5-6 UOAs.

2016 Subaru STi, 37.8k miles, 2.9k miles OCI Castrol Euro 0w30 LL01 w/ OE filter

One of the reasons I do UOA at shorter intervals is to catch possible issues. Yes a waste of money but its not much money - every UOA i post up I get people telling me I'm wasting money. I am here to admit I am ok with that. :)

Lol look at my signature. 3/5 cars are DI, But yea, I know their fuel dilution numbers seem a bit weird.

My point was castrol 0w30 / 0w40 is so similar that I'd just go for the 0w40 - 0w40 is $27.99 for 5 quarts vs 0w30 $49 for 6 quarts.

Just another UOA i'm sharing. I put in 0w30 Castrol again but I will probably switch back to Castrol 0w40 because it can be had a bit cheaper due to the 5quart jugs. I got the 0w30 on sale so had enough for about 3 oil changes. I couldve ran this out a little longer but I change oil based on...

    2018 Bmw X1 s28i, 50.6k miles, 6.7k miles OCI Motul Xcess Gen 2 5w40 LL01

Extended the intervals out a bit more on this UOA. I will probably keep it at 6-7k intervals here on out. This UOA was probably 60% of highspeed highway, but also mixed very short trips - lot of short trips to the grocery store and to pull the car in and out of driveway when I use the garage as...

2016 Subaru STi, 34.9k miles, 3.5k miles OCI Castrol Euro 0w30 LL01 w/ OE filter

The 0w30 I pickup when it's cheap but other than that I will take the 0w40 5qt tanks at once at amazon / walmart. Keep in mind that the 0w30 did see the highest mileage interval so far so that could factor in the more pb shown. As far as extending the drain intervals, I'm sure 5k+ would be no...

Sharing another UOA. Usually use 0w40 GC but decided to use up some 0w30 I had sitting around from 2018-19 ish. LL01 label on there. I daily drive the car about 7 miles each way to work (mostly freeway).

I assume you mean the oil turning into a 30w. Yes - turbo + heavy foot on the 250 mile desert runs I assume had something to do with that.

    2018 Bmw X1 s28i, 43.9k miles, 5.9k miles OCI Motul Xcess Gen 2 5w40 LL01

I stretched this oil out little farther because past results were decent on that 5k interval run and because this one was quite literally, half freeway trips. I did about 5-6 trips from LA - VEGAS which were 250 miles each way.. so 2500 miles were guaranteed to be all freeway, and the additional...

    2018 Bmw X1 s28i, 38.2k miles, 5.2k miles OCI Motul Xcess Gen 2 5w40 LL01

Yes. It's trending down though so I'm not worried. The intervals before this one consisted of horribly short trips - wife took it to the store once / twice a day to grab groceries, less than 5 min drive each way. Also, lot of idling while letting the babies sleep. This last interval was the only...

For those wondering starting from the far right column and moving left, first was factory fill BMW TPT 0w20 LL17 filled under the BMW free service period, followed by BMW TPT 5w30 LL01 SOPUS, then Motul 5w40 Xcess Gen 2 LL01 for the last two UOAs.
