Hankook Optimo H727 - @35K miles sound terrible!

The Prius is well known to be very hard on tires. The last set of tires on my Prius were Firestone Affinity. Despite the treadwear rating of 560 and several rotations they only lasted 37,000 km (23,000 miles) to get down to the wear bars. I have heard that the Prius is hard on tires but this is...

I like using silicone spray to get rid of suspension squeaks.

    Genuine Toyota Oil Filters

I took a used Toyota filter apart (Prius) and I was very impressed with the quality of construction and large amount of media. I currently have a Mobil 1 filter on my Prius but I would have confidence in going to a long OCI with a Toyota filter.

how long for new car break in?

I have noticed elevated metals in used oil analysis up to 15,000 to 20,000 miles. Therefore I would say the break period is about 15,000 miles.

Dex VI goes in the Prius tomorrow.

That transaxle is very expensive to replace and it has high voltage electrical windings exposed to the fluid - I would would stick with the Toyota fluid. The fluid does not need to be changed very often so cost is not a big issue.

Rusted Exhaust Studs & Other Issues

I would try to undo the nut/studs. Because they are rusted the stud will likely unscrew from the block. Install new studs and nuts when you put it back together. I have done this job on a nissan but not a mazda.

    94 Accord 2.2L light engine knock @ 1750-2000 rpm?

I had to change out the main exhaust pipe on my 94 Accord a few years ago due to noise. If you do it stay with stock Honda parts. I tried non oem and ended up changing it again a few months later.

    Ford Hybrids-Lifetime Air Filter

Disappointed in Collinite 476s vs Nufinish.......

I think Nufinish paste is a great product for the average car owner. I have applied Nufinish paste on a 1/4 section of the roof of my black van verses several other types of wax on other sections of the roof. I have done this twice now and Nufinish kept beading water much longer than any of...
