That's definitely a sign of a bad connection and arcing. Old outlets are very prone to this especially ones that get heavy use.

I change the rear diff oil in my little Mazda truck every 10-20k miles. The way I run the truck would probably fall into a severe service interval. Its has a factory fill and drain plug so its easy to do.

The lip of the filter without the screen wasn't staying on the side of the filter box. Being that the filter wasn't very rigid it was falling down into the box. Only the two narrow sides were holding it up.

I'm not a fan. I just pulled one out of my brothers care and replaced it with a wire backed filter because the one without was not sealing in the middle on the long sides. Ford air box too and possibly the same size filter. His car is an 09 crown vic.

You don't want to put 90 weight in a ZF-5. Way too thick! Most guys are using full synthetic atf in these now. Some use syncromesh fluid and some have used tractor transmission fluid (THF). Guys that have tried to used gear oil have reported the transmission being hard or impossible to shift.
