What is the best method or repairing under hood wiring, butt connectors or soldering?

The most important thing issue is to keep moisture and elements out of the repaired section of wire. You have to get the repair weather tight to prevent corrosion of the wire and future failures. Use liquid tape or weather tight solder/crimp connectors to get the repair done right.

Will this work: file away, destroy, the threads on this top strut bolt.

just use a die or file to clean up any damage after you've taken it apart and replace the nut, removing the threads will just leave you with less material to work with in the future.

Accumulator/dryer really cold even when AC is off

If the compressor has a clutch then it was stuck on for some reason. Just keep an eye on it to see if you can catch it being on when it shouldn't. It's either a mechanical problem with the clutch or an electrical problem where power is turning on to the clutch when it shouldn't be.

issues removing and installing toyota right cv axle

Earlier this week I completed some repairs on my '11 FWD 3.5L Sienna but not without issues. I removed the right cv axle to replace a leaking inner CV boot. First issue I ran into was that I galled up the threads of the axle end when removing the spindle nut. I think this was a mistake on my...

Sentra Shuts Off While Driving in neutral

You state that you are coasting in neutral to save gas but as others have stated you are doing the exact opposite of that. In other words stop doing that, you are not achieving your goal. Does the engine idle rough at any other time? Not familiar with your car, does it have a MAF sensor...

Can't Wait To See How This Plays Out.

If I were in your shoes I would keep a spare that she doesn't know about locked up in a safe place. It would only ever be used in emergencies and I'd never hand it over to her. I don't know about the particulars of your vehicle but I do know that for some cars if you lose all the master keys it...

Oil Catch Can and Rear Mail Seal - can it cause issues?

If your PCV is working correctly and your catch can is not restricting the flow of pressure out of the engine it should not cause any oil leak issues

Is this too much wheel bearing play?

umm... yea. You don't want to feel any movement at all in the bearing when all is right with it. Time for new bearings, add it to the list of whatever else has to be done :)

    Engine mount

Don't ignore bad engine mounts, they will cause more wear and tear on other mounts and it could even get to the point where it starts breaking other things under the hood from the engine/trans moving around too much and pulling on or smashing on stuff.

    Over Tightened Canister Filter Cap

When I first got my Toyota Sienna I bought a Fram Ultra filter and the required cap wrench to change out the filter that the dealer put in. I had to use my harbor freight 1/2" drive breaker bar and all of my strength to get that filter cap broken free. I was almost certain something was going to...

Honda Crank Bolt Tightening - comparing two methods

    Help with trailer wiring

Use a 12V test light and poke the wires near that adapter to see if you have power on the lines when you should. It could be your adapter, it could be those wire taps not making a good connection. A test light should help you to figure out why your lights are not working correctly. Don't forget...
