Two Honda turbocharged 165hp jet skis, both 2006 models used regularly. No issues. Change oil and plugs every year.

How do you like the driving aids in today's cars?

Dominate hand at 12. Split second reflexes call for a right wheel movement to turn to the right, like unexpected debris coming at you. One hand at 6 is only good for backing a trailer as it automatically reverses your hand movement, which is not what you want going fwd. But if your used to it...

    Installing new water heater

Someone sells this thing that you hook your drill up to that slings a piece of wire or something up inside to break up the crud. Now that-I don't recommend! One time I removed the burned out electric element and used a dowel and my water pik thru the opening to bust the crud up. The 60' well we...

How do you like the driving aids in today's cars?

At first I didn't like adaptive cruise on the wife's Subaru, every time some one cut in front I would get farther back but I learned to set it on like 80 and it would follow along with everyone else whether it was 60 or 70,75. If they were going 80+ I would turn it off for a minute. Love the way...

    Installing new water heater

I've seen it recommended by many to get rid of the stock drain valve if it is a small low flow plastic thing and get a good brass quick open ball valve for better flow. Also, to drain older ones get a y splitter with two valves and put an air connection on one outlet. Turn off power/gas and use...

Francis Scott Key Bridge (Baltimore) hit by Cargo Ship and Collapsed

Several years ago I was working the night shift at the docks on the Houston Ship Channel. It was a little windy, and a ship was coming in hot with a tailwind toward a sharp curve right before the Washburn Tunnel. I could see sparks coming from the anchor chain as they dropped it. I believe they...

    Really losing my Mojo....

71 in a few months, yesterday started with my neighbors pet pig in our yard, corraled him with some dry cat food, got him back in her gate. (a few years ago my yard was devastated by some feral hogs, still recovering so I was glad that this was not that again), then we finally got rid of a piano...

    What are your phobias?

A neighbor was in an elevator that dropped 2 stories, messed her up quite a bit. A different one for me is not a phobia but common sense fear is I never walk over grates with my keys in my hand in a parking lot.

    What are your phobias?

Wife loves skydiving (tandem) but hates going over bridges over the water in the car. Makes me move over from the outer lane. I tried to explain to her that it would be better to bump the guardrail from the slow lane than to get pushed out of the fast lane and hit the rail with more momentum. I...

    Oil changes for warranty

I've always avoided the Dealer as much as possible in my 55 years of driving but bought the wife a used Subaru from the Dealership and bought the extended warranty. Never had a Subie before, mostly Toyotas and decided to take it there for the O/Cs and services, at least during the warranty. Has...

Do you use auto start/stop feature (if applicable)?

In Texas heat no motor, no AC. My female cousin had a newer Buick and wanted to turn it off, I looked it up and the only way without the Forscan or whatever was press the - button on the shifter 9x or some crap OR put the AC on Max. I told her do that and roll the windows down if it gets too...

Medicare with Medigap or Medicare Advantage?

We have Medicare and a Supplement with Plan G. No co-pays, no referrals, go to any Dr or Hospital. There is a Deductible but we have had several $$ surgeries and never paid much if anything for that. Before we retired I thought health insurance was gonna be a big problem, but this is better that...

Jed Clampett's OMC outdrive upside down?

I saw this recently, looks like my old OMC, except mine was installed a little differently. Was this so it could be trailered or something? Mine did tilt, had those funny exposed "fingers" instead of a u-joint.

Gravely ZT 60 w/3100's, Handles not lining up in full reverse.

UPDATE. I air bled the units and put it into service. I did adjust fwd travel a little to go straight, not much. Still very much a mystery what happened but it seems ok now. Maybe while it was leaned back to c/o the blades some air got in thru the expansion tanks?????????? Didn't do this before...

    Stereo stuff...

My oldest son got me 2 Metallica vinyl albums for Xmas. He didn't know I finally gave up on vinyl a few years ago and got rid of my Dual turntable. Got me to looking at new ones as I still have my Marantz, but I'm glad to have most of my hearing at my age and feel no need to push my luck. I do...

Gravely ZT 60 w/3100's, Handles not lining up in full reverse.

Thanks, but they were aligned before I changed the blades....that's the odd thing. Nothing there has changed. The transaxle is not letting the levers go like they used to, and the mower turns (to the right or left, I don't remember) going backwards unless I move the levers in an uneven position...
