And sitting in the dark on the shoulder. Death wish.....

    Speeding ticket

I have lived in/near Houston all my life, and I believe they have given up on speeders in the last several years. I can't remember the last time I saw a cop sitting on the side of the road, except on the tollways checking for toll violations. Like some have said, driving the limit, even 9 over...

I was in the same boat, I remember my #, and going downtown to take my physical. None of my high school friends were drafter either.

    Oldsmobile diesel history

All I remember is that the sales ads bragged about no spark plugs needed. My co-worker had one and one day he mentioned he had to buy 8 glow plugs, and they were expensive.

How many of you have made your " Final Arrangements " ?

A friend's husband passed and the wife can't find the Will. Turns out in Texas the Will is not recorded until it is Probated, and a copy won't do, even if you find it. If true this is an awful situation. Our Lawyer retired and his office is closed. Not sure what our situation is, but we need to...

    Never a dull moment

Mine is an indoor cat. He brought me a cockroach yesterday. I've had him 15 years, and he still plays like a youngster. When we turn off the lites every night he runs full speed around the house like a maniac. His vocabulary includes "red light" (starts looking for the laser pointer), "bug"...

    Drove a Tesla yesterday.

My brother bought a Tesla S Plaid 3 yrs ago. He passed a few years ago so I can't speak to how it has held up, but I remember he had flats too often for it to be a reliable mode of transportation (for me). He had to get Tesla come change them of tow him if I remember right. Maybe the tires are...

Input on "best" refrigerators on the market wanted

Wife and I were taking an Uber and she made a wrong turn. (I knew the route). I asked her if she ever used Waze, and she had never heard of it. We were stunned. She had been Ubering for a year.

How old is your oldest motorcycle?

If I remember right, my '74 Z had a sticker on the swingarm to change the chain every 3000 miles (they stretched/broke from the 60 hp back then). No master link. Had to pull the whole swingarm off. Early Honda 750's were being demolished when the chain broke and flew into the crankcase. Chains...

Input on "best" refrigerators on the market wanted

Basic Frigidaire has been running well and semi-quietly for 2 years now, but after researching back then and seeing all the poor reviews I kept our old one (it was working, just leaked water on the defrost cycle but could be "fixed") until the new one proved itself. I gave up on ice makers. Our...

Should I be afraid of a Briggs Engine

Had a boxer twin briggs, crappy coil was ok till it got hot then you were done for a few hours. Replacements were not any better. And that was before everything came from china. (I think).

Should I be afraid of a Briggs Engine

I bought a FR type air cleaner to put on my FR730V. There was some chatter about carb jets but I could not find different specs. Running fine for a year now. https://powerequipmentman.com/products/air-filter-upgrade-kit?

    Battery recommendations

Walmart--the last time I did a warranty return on a WM battery, I wasn't exactly sure if it was completely bad or not (I forget the issue) but I remember I was working night shift and went to WM very early before the auto service dept opened. Like 5 or 6 am. So I just grabbed a new battery and...

Anyone ever notice ZTR mowers seem to run on empty forever?

Gravely/Kawasaki. All I know is mine gives you about 5 revolutions before it quits, no warning at all. No fuel gauge, just a useless window down between your legs. I would like to put a motorcycle type valve with a reserve tap on it. But I just fill it up, that's plenty for my yard.

Seems like a lot of stress on those nail plates in the middle? Maybe a good place for scabbing and bolting? But I'm not an engineer.

Any reason not to use Valvoline synthetic 75w-90?

For some reason I still remember reading somewhere to always make sure you are able to get the fill plug open before you drain a diff on an older car, just in case.

    HVAC filters

If your clothes dryer is in your house it could remove a lot of conditioned air every time it runs. That's the reason I put ours in the garage. I built our home in the 80's, and at the time my brother had been fired from his job as Air Traffic Controller by Reagan and was working at a Radio...

Turtle Wax Ceramic Hybrid Solutions Polish & Wax Users ?

If I remember correctly, the Ceramic is very hard to get off glass. That is why I like the Seal and Shine, you can put it on glass, black plastic, etc. And no white residue like regular wax.
