    2019 Ranger 2.3T Ecoboost - MC Full Synth 5w30 - 10,414 miles

Universal averages are also at half as long as a 10k OCI. What’s your point?

    2019 Ranger 2.3T Ecoboost - MC Full Synth 5w30 - 10,414 miles

Yes they warranty 5w30 like this, sheared down at 10k miles when it’s ready to be changed per the manual. This is factory maintenance per the manual evidencing that it’s fine.

    2019 Ranger 2.3T Ecoboost - MC Full Synth 5w30 - 10,414 miles

There’s nothing in a healthy oil report that implicates timing chain wear… meaning the chain is gonna wear regardless of your oil performance. Changing early is still a waste and your timing parts will still wear out. Lol

    2019 Ranger 2.3T Ecoboost - MC Full Synth 5w30 - 10,414 miles

You guys are crazy! There’s nothing short of a good pattern of results here. Nothing to worry about.

    2019 Ranger 2.3T Ecoboost - MC Full Synth 5w30 - 10,414 miles

Motorcraft full synthetic 5w30 for the last two changes. Synthetic blend was used before that. I’m moving on now to Castrol Edge. Always use the MC FL920S filter. Motor has the Ford Performance engine tune and K&N air filter.

    ‘84 Ford Lima 2.3L Turbo - 690mi, 2 years - Edge 0w40

I think the blackstone just missed labeled that way that was actually 600 miles

    ‘84 Ford Lima 2.3L Turbo - 690mi, 2 years - Edge 0w40

Gets flogged every time it is up to temperature 👍🏻😬

    ‘84 Ford Lima 2.3L Turbo - 690mi, 2 years - Edge 0w40

This engine has a copper oil cooler. The lead is likely the gas additive.

    ‘84 Ford Lima 2.3L Turbo - 690mi, 2 years - Edge 0w40

Pretty sure the lead is from gas additive, I have used octane boosters in the gas and break in lube in the oil the last few changes.

    07 Z06-7,900 miles-Blackstone report

Mileage that low on the engine, it’s probably still break in metals. I mean it’s a v8, lots of moving parts, and a corvette that hopefully gets driven hard. Seems fine doubt there’s much to worry about.

    2019 Ford 2.3T Ecoboost 9k OCI MC-5w30 Full Synthetic

Well I bought a case of this 5w30 MC full synthetic so the next change will be the same. I’ll consider a 5w40 or 0w40 after that.

    2019 Ford 2.3T Ecoboost 9k OCI MC-5w30 Full Synthetic

Perfect time to change it then, eh? It seems optimal that the oil's worn out when it's time to be changed and there is no indication of undue wear metals or contaminants.

    2019 Ford 2.3T Ecoboost 9k OCI MC-5w30 Full Synthetic

2019 Ranger with the Ford Performance engine tune and K&N air filter that goes with it. OLM was at 8%. I had fuel dilution over the winter months OCI but none over this spring and summer OCI. Regular commute driving and a few road trips. Looks like the new 2.3 is shearing the oil. Not sure I...

UOA: 2019 Ford Ranger 2.3T Ecoboost

Huh? Blackstone says soot is represented in the insolubles.

UOA: 2019 Ford Ranger 2.3T Ecoboost

Soot looks fine based on the low insolubles in my UOA. I actually had higher insolubles in my 2014 N/A Pentastar with 7k OCI.

    Conventional Oil Change Intervals (Time)

I change every 2-3 years on my 84. Top end is squeeky clean last time I popped the cover to check and oil always looks new despite a 1980s technology turbo and thrashing it.

UOA: 2019 Ford Ranger 2.3T Ecoboost

Yeah the Ford tune requires 91 octane and a 36 month engine warranty applies from the date of install. Shearing based on the lowering of viscosity? Is this a don't care because it started as a 5w30 and is closer to a 5w20 at this wear level... my 2002 4.6L Ford took 5w20 and that stuff came out...

UOA: 2019 Ford Ranger 2.3T Ecoboost

This is with the Ford Performance engine tune and the K&N air filter that goes with it. TBN is still good at 9k and OLM at 8%, 10k would be fine which is where the OLM would have been about at 0%. This is "normal" commuting and a few road trips. Motorcraft full synthetic 5w30 in and out, MC...
