New Mobil 1 Truck & SUV Oil

Good read. Just saw the Mobil 1 T&S today in an O'Reillys for the 1st time. I had stocked up a year or so ago w/ 'normal' M1. Came here to see what was up. Looks like the specs are OK, now w/ theDexos certification.

Aftermarket Oil Filter for Rotax 900 ACE

    I got a reply that it's a Fram CH6104. WIX has their WL10090 http://www.wixfilters.com/Lookup/PartDetails.aspx?Part=2096681

Aftermarket Oil Filter for Rotax 900 ACE

Other than Fram do any of the other aftermarket oil filter companies make a filter for this motor? I have a 2018 Ski-doo MXZ Blizzard 900. While checking dootalk.com, it is mentioned that Fram does make a filter, the construction appears flimsy compared to the BRP filter.

    Oil Filter Media Question

The reason I asked is that once in a discussion about using a longer vs shorter filter (all other things being the same) it was posted about the possibility of different media being used. I'm not an engineer, but I don't think filter size would/should affect the pressure the lubrication system...

    Oil Filter Media Question

Do the filter manufacturers use the same media across the same 'line' of filters? For example, would AC Delco spec the same 'paper' in a PF48 as in a PF63? Obviously it would be different in the Ultraguard versions (if available)

    Valvoline Synpower 5W30 Question

OK, I was suspect as this price seemed unrealistic. Never see synthetic oils @ this price point. Last week in the US I paid around 23 bucks for the 5 qt jug of Mobil 1 @ Wally Mart. Here @ home it would've been priced around 41 bucks US @ WallyMart. I'm glad VP mentioned the Dexos points...

    Valvoline Synpower 5W30 Question

Just saw in the WallyMart Canada flyer that their 'every day' price for Synpower 5W30 (4.73 L jug) is $26.88 CDN ($19.76 US) . This is half their price for Mobil 1 5W30. Is the price a reflection of the quality of the oil? Or are they using it as a 'loss leader'?

    Ecore vs Non-Ecore Filter Question

Some folks pooh pooh the idea of using anything but the actual AC Delco filter. They reason if the Ecore filter is good enough for GM then it's good enough for their vehicle(s). Others do not want any plastic inside their oil filter. Well I noticed something yesterday @ Wallymart. I was surfing...

Why change oil filter every oil change?

In 36 years old vehicle ownership, I've never doubled up on an oil filter. I've been accused of being cheap, but I really can't see what the savings is. I'm under the truck to drain the oil, so it's not like skipping a filter change is making the job any easier.

    WIX Filters (Black vs White)

I just noticed that on the O'Reilly website that they show a white w/ black lettering 57060 filter. Last year when I purchased a 57060 filter from O'Reilly, the filter was black w/ a label affixed. Has there been a change made recently w/ the 'standard' grade WIX filters?
