NEW Vehicle Advice / Recommendations: Anyone? Subaru or Toyota? What says the gang?

I like them both, but Toyotas were never worth the additional price the dealers were used to getting MSRP+ Being further upside down in a liability never seemed the way to go. We went with Subaru and it's been a perfect little rig for my parents. Between the two dealers the Subaru guys...

Lucid Air Sets New Record 747 Miles on a Single Charge

The gravity is the closest SUV to ICE. Its got the most highway range, and the fastest charging available on every network It's an awesome /Luxe ride. Even though I can afford it, buying a 120K car would never pass the grandpa test. (If I couldn't " sell" to to Grandpa chances are its not a...

    How to tax EVs

If the car checks in directly I dont worry so much about fraud, I worry about errors. Like the guys that get million dollar bills from power and water companies that no one checks before they go out then you are stuck in morass of bureaucracy without the service while you are sorting it out.

Oil for Kohler 20RCA generator - says fully synthetic API 5W-30 rated SG SH or SJ

Kohler 20KW RESC on Nat gas. I run 0W40 in mine. We've had 27 outages in the last 8 months ranging from 15 min to 12 hours. Pulled the stick after every run and the oil is still at the top and so clean I can barely see it. It used a little the first 100 hours, but Ive seen almost no...

New Jersey tells Tesla: remove super chargers from NJ Turnpike

This guy feels like a whiner to me. What service are you using for the screenshot you posted? Im finding all kinds of disparate data on that center. I dont have a problem with non government funded chargers being locked to the person that paid for them. I dont think it's good business, but...

New Jersey tells Tesla: remove super chargers from NJ Turnpike

This guy is a bit over the top, and I also think he's missing the bigger picture NJ didnt screw tesla owners, in typical NJ fashion - they screwed everyone According to this guy these applegreeen chargers are pretty lame. Only 100KW between 2 cars so if both active 50 KW. This is worse than...

    How to tax EVs

Most are but they dont report anything to the gov proactively. Im ok with a regular check in say quarterly or half yearly. What should the tax be paid against - weight, miles, price?

Federal EV tax credit set to end completely September 30th

Yes most are. On the dry hole scenario this difference isnt as great. I can only deduct a certain % of given cost against anything regardless of opportunity. Until this year I had to expense R&D over 15 years It might be down to IDC's on this side. The wet hole or the landed deals where...

Federal EV tax credit set to end completely September 30th

I totally get how big oil controls politics and our quality of life. I dont like 3rd parties controlling our quality of life, but when we sell out we get what we deserve.

Federal EV tax credit set to end completely September 30th

I totally get guys being hypocritical. I understand your position, and we're mostly aligned. If I spend X dollars trying land a client and lose the sale anyway how's that different? My money is gone and I get no special deduction for that effort. Its not so much the dry hole comparison...

Federal EV tax credit set to end completely September 30th

You didn't answer my question, but I will yours. The US EV industry got all kinds of stuff - some special , some totally regular. Ive never claimed they didnt. I always hated the carbon credit thing - but EVERY US auto maker could have gotten it. It was at least fair on that level. I was...

Federal EV tax credit set to end completely September 30th

Your position is that the oil industry gets no subsidy. Got it. Is it also your position the oil industry gets no beneficial aid, taxation sections, industry specific deductions, or help from the US government in any way? If they do these would also be facts, and matter.

Federal EV tax credit set to end completely September 30th

I dont believe we should have ever handed money to people to buy EV's I've been 100% consistent with that. Who is crushing public utilities? I dont follow. If its demand that crushes them then stop building data centers, megamalls and new industry - they use way more power than EV's. Im trying...

Federal EV tax credit set to end completely September 30th

Im not saying cheap is better, Im saying stability and control is. Even implied stability issues send costs skyrocketing. This is why pump prices shoot up at the first hint of an availability issue even if it's only one tanker. IF there was no benefit to parking the fleet in the straight why...

Federal EV tax credit set to end completely September 30th

I dislike all the subsides, but the playing field is miles from level. Big oil and petroleum gets mega breaks in a variety of forms call them what you will. It's a great question, why promote electric cars at all? De-coupling Americas quality of life from being at the whim of middle Eastern...
