What's interesting about those charging rate graphs is the so-called "Partial Peak" from 9pm to midnight. That's not because demand is high, it's because solar output is low. You wouldn't demand is higher in the middle of the night. TLDR "partial peak" is a misnomer.

Circling way back to this in post #7, I don't think there's any reason to say Tesla batteries last longer than GM batteries. The Volt batteries were known for their longevity.

The Leaf has the worst battery life of all EVs. It would probably do alright for 10 years though.

I'm pretty sure the American manufacturers could do this too. Tesla and GM have even said they're close to it. But, they know there are a bunch of cheap nut jobs out there who would buy one then hold onto it for 30 years, lost forever as a customer. Hey, I'm one of those cheap nut jobs.
