Thread for photos that 100% do not violate any Terms Of Service, not political, not too lewd, no gas price pics etc.

These things aren't track cars, but they do go fast. Might be stolen. Plate comes back as a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. KInda looks altered based on the blue lines. 🤷‍♂️

My LS430 was supposed to have come with factory wheel locks. But some time between 2002 and now, they've walked away along with the key.

    Post your latest parts purchase

Drove out to the Lexus dealer to pick up more body clips (special order) for the LS430. They're for the cowl weatherstrip that also runs down the sides of the fenders. I didn't want to try and remove the existing clip from the radiator support without have a few replacements in case the...

Post your Gas Mileage : Calculated

LS430 - Miles = 178.5 (mixed) Gallons = 17.1 Mileage 10.4 mpg Something is rotten in Denmark. EPA is 18/25 The LS430 is geared shorter than the LS400, but not 7mpg shorter. I'll have to see what the current tankful yields. I suspect the miles are in error.

    Pinch welds, Pinch welds anyone?

This isn't a Malibu, but you get the idea. The lifting area for the emergency jack is the area in the rectangle. I normally don't use pinch welds for lifting, unless it's with the emergency jack on the side of the road. However, I will put jack stands (with a pad) there. The stand doesn't...

    New tool thread

I needed an AC probe to replace my old neon/pin one. From Amazon, $33 and some change. Used it yesterday to confirm I need a new electric blanket.

What are you working on today?

Sometimes I think fail-safe thermostats have a fail-safe because they know it's going to fail.

What are you working on today?

I've done this on the Camaro to replace the tank due to a leak at the filler/tank junction back in '89. I didn't find it very difficult, laying on the ground. I unbolt the lower shock/sway bar mounts and lower the rear axle out of the way. Makes getting the filler neck in and out a lot...

What are you working on today?

Is the Trans Am an LG4 or an L69? I ask because your post is pretty calm if you had to drop the tank to get to the FI fuel pump.

A classmate of mine told me a story about a road trip he and three friends were taking across Montana. They came upon a wrecker that was towing a Kenworth (tractor) backwards on the interstate. The driver started tailgating the towed truck like in the image above. 1-2-3 and the three guys...

    Overheating alternator?

I have nothing to add, other than it makes me happy knowing there's another 1st Gen Legend still on the road.

What triggered you to align with a certain manufacturer for your cordless tools?

I look to see what tools people use to make money with. For some reason, I've always leaned towards Makita. These days, there are a lot of good brands out there. There's an old 9.6v Makita drill buried in the garage someplace that I don't use anymore. I just bought a 12v Makita Multi-tool...

    Another nail in the tire😭

I pick up nails and screws on the rare occasion. Not with alarming frequency. I did run over the saddle (not the bolt loop) of a muffler clamp once. It went half way thru the tire tread.

    Removing a GPS tracker

Mine was piggy-backed onto the OBDII diag port. No splicing into existing wiring harnesses. I just unplugged and pitched it. The white connector is the factory OBD port. There's another black ODB port on the end of the braided harness that was plugged into the hush panel in it's place...

What are you working on today?

This is the trend on a lot of auto boards I frequent. They just want you to: Tell them what parts to replace. Tell them what's wrong so they can tell someone what parts to replace. Tell them what's wrong so they can argue with a service tech. Some dude reports that when he takes his car thru...

Box Truck U-Bolts Working Loose - Will Lock Washers Help?

In general, split lock washers are just feel good devices. They do not help maintain fastener tightness. Fastener tightness is achieved by creating stress in the threads. Split washers flatten out way before thread stress is reached; they essentially become flat washers at this point. There...

My 2007 Accord with 666,800 miles (Valvetrain Shots)

It might have helped if someone would have touched these things periodically. I was told that the clearances on a OHC get tighter as the engine wears. This is the Legend (SOHC) at ~438k. Only the exhaust side is adjustable. The valve train isn't quiet but the lobes aren't trashed either.

Why the hate for Champion plugs?

I used to install Champion plugs exclusively in Mopars. I don't recall ever having any come-backs. A lot of the "complaints" was that one heat range covered a wider range than other brands. According to a distributor rep, CHampion re-did their application catalog when they went to copper...
