Lake Speed Junior High Zinc Oil new video

LSJ said he was about to do this video in the Sprinter Fix diesel-centric video I posted in the Mechanical Forum. A most beneficial balance of zinc, moly, and calcium, in the optimum forms, was obtained.

2025 Toyota 2.5L Engine Oil Viscosity Update.

The biggest problem I ran into was super light rims being destroyed by wonderful NorCal highway potholes. I remain fascinated why you don't use, say, ESP 0W20 or OVERKILL 0W20.

2025 Toyota 2.5L Engine Oil Viscosity Update.

I am going to finally discuss mpg's, after years of restraint. I remember how sluggish my 1982 Tercel was on thicker oil with the AC on. So long as there is adequate protection, and as you point out, that is a crucial qualifier, thin oil can be part of a strategy that yields worthwhile reduced...

2025 Toyota 2.5L Engine Oil Viscosity Update.

The argument is made that thinner oils do not offer notable mpg improvements. I achieved 70 mpg in a 2022 Honda Insight, using HPL PP 0W8 as part of a synergy. Thinner oils are an intelligent choice for appropriate applications. Thicker oil surely provides adequate protection, and then some. A...

Thank you. The point of electronic control is that engine temperature is more precisely contained. It gets up to operating temperature quickly and then stays in a safe range. The recommended viscosity of thinner oils is where safe efficiency is best achieved. I would use highest quality 0W20...

2025 Toyota 2.5L Engine Oil Viscosity Update.

It is an interesting development in my eye that Toyota differentiates between models and hybridized or not. eg RAV4 or Camry ? FKS or FXS ? They are pulling the same stunt with CVT, Rear Differential fluids. TG WS vs eTransaxle Fluid TE. I am going to march into a Lexus dealership soon and...

Lake Speed Junior High Zinc Oil new video

No Royal Purple ! I saw those results. Your BITOG posting is respected. I believe your point is to have more depth of information in oil selection. Those oils are exactly what I would want for that $80k Turbo application. My CCH is the favorite vehicle I have ever owned. California gas prices...

I very clearly stated the respective engine codes in the first. And am being specific about oil grade applications, and real world, testing-data basis. That is hardly "misinformation". /disengage

It is always best to purchase a solid vehicle and have a smart, consistent maintenance plan, so as to never have a warranty claim.

2025 Toyota 2.5L Engine Oil Viscosity Update.

The information is essentially correct. If you look at my posts and threads you will see the foundation. Stop/Start factors, engine size, and compression ratios of 13:1 vs 14:1 are the minimal differences. Toyota specs 0W8 and 0W16 across a broad spectrum of A25A and M20A engines, for model...

2025 Toyota 2.5L Engine Oil Viscosity Update.

CAFE has caused some manufacturers to fail miserably in efforts to squeeze out credits. Warranty engine replacements are expensive for those same manufacturers, who have not come up with solid, efficient designs. Toyota for one has engineered greater efficiency, while maintaining their stellar...

2023 Toyota Camry 2.5 oil choice

Toyota tends to recommend 0W16 for A25A-FXS (hybrid). LJS says manufacturers know that, with the same engine series, hybrids are harder on oils than essentially identical non hybrids. RAV4, Crown, Sienna...look carefully !!
