    Tuff Torq K46 oil question

I know this is an older thread but the info is relevant as we are moving into the mowing season. he K46 is one of the most popular transaxles used over the past 10-15 years on riding lawn tractors. People are getting their equipment ready. I have considered adding the two drain plugs. However as...

Employee Ripped Off By Chain Shop - Helping Her Out

The members of a board like this get it. The fact that so many of the chain Tire and muffler shops pull this hard and deceptive sell on people is so offensive. Dealers have been known to do it too. There may be some good ones out there but the stories are never ending. Find a good local...

    Chinese tire quality

The local shop I visited also had Fuzion. What is your take on them?......If they are not any good as an all season radial I will wait until the GT Altimax is available.

    Chinese tire quality

Yes, That was one of the first places I looked. My size is 225/70/16. The Altimax is out of stock. Good to know so many car people like them. Thanks for the endorsements on the other 3 options.

    Snowblower warriors

If your chute is clogging here is the generalized check list. 1. make sure your belt is not slipping. Remove the belt cover and inspect. It may need replacing or just a simple adjustment to the tensioner or cable. 2. using a tach make sure your engine is running at top speed. Ususally about...

    Chinese tire quality

OK, this thread is timely for me. I want to get 4 new tires for my Sedona van. I went into a regional chian tire shope that I have used in the past. The sales man brings me right to the "Economy" tire for about $100 per. The brand was Westlake which I never have heard of. He gave me the sales...

KIA Power Steering fluid - PSF-3 - Equivalent?

This is what I have found. I did call my local KIA dealer and was passed back and forth between Parts and Service and was eventually hung up on. So that was my answer. I dug in to find aftermarket products that are spec'ed to meet the PSF 3. I picked up the multi vehicle AmsOil PSF at a Napa...

KIA Power Steering fluid - PSF-3 - Equivalent?

This thread was started over 2 years ago and I wanted to bring it up now to see if anyone has any new and clearer info. I have visited this on Kia forums and all of the threads are older than this one and the info comes across like hearsay. Lots of opinions but not anything concrete or can be...

    Which oil would you use

As well said by many either is fine. Here is some food for thought. the 5w-30 will burn oil more, especially in warmer weather. Since you have a snow blower that would put the 5w-30 synthetic to good use why not use the dyno 10-30 in the mower.? With short OCI required on a mower with no oil...

    Rotor set screw

The screws are standard flat head screws (not set screws) which you should be able to find in any decent hardware store. The Honda's and VW's use M6-1.0 x 12, I think or maybe x 13. On flat head screws you measure the entire length. Not just the threaded portion. On my Kia they use M8 x 1.25. If...

New to me tractor burning some oil

Here is an update. I tried the 20w-50 and it smoked even more at start up. Much worse vs. the SAE 30. This is a bit counter intuitive. While it was running it was ok but running was not that big of a problem. The problematic smoking has always been at start up. May want to use the Rotella that...

New to me tractor burning some oil

I have been reading up on this topic a bit as I have a similar issue. Consider going to a higher viscosity oil. Briggs now recommends a 15w-50 synthetic to reduce burning. I am thinking of using a 20w-50 or a Rotella 15w-40 as it has anti soot properties and more zinc to protect engine parts...

    99 VW Auto fluid change

I know this is an older tread but I thought I would add to the topic for posterity sake. The Wolfshead Full synthetic multi vehicle ATF is a newer product and meets the VW spec G 052 162 A2...... and others as well. Made it the US and reasonably priced...

Does anyone know who makes the Mercon V for Ford? maybe the same plant that makes it for Wal-Mart?

    To Auto-Rx, or not?

It does not sound like you really have a problem. Just do regular Oil changes with a good brand of oil. I have used Auto Rx to see if it would help with an oil leak at at the ream main seal and oil burning..........it did very little if anything. The Engine was not particularly dirty but it...

    Mercon V ATF

I am sure I am not the first person to bring this up but I didn't see it when I did a search. I have a Ford AX4N transmission that calls for Mercon V. What are people's thought's on the Wal-Mart Super Tech Mercon V?
