Exactly. This is the equivalent of replacing the old tire gauge with a digital readout. Beside, people make all kinds of mistakes with the dipstick. Not fully inserting it, checking oil level as soon as engine is turned off, checking on an incline, misreading the "wet" mark, etc.

I like it. Its innovative. Probably some people freaked out when the old cable driven speedometer was replaced by a digital speedo. I still would like a dipstick as a redundancy, but its no big deal. Do people freak out over digital fuel gages?

Never lost a fuel pump in my whole driving life. Pumps are cooled by the fuel flowing inside them. Simply getting low means nothing. Only if they go bone dry would it matter.

I don't over do at all. I use a moderate amount of Brut on my chest just before putting my shirt on. That way its behind the fabric, and takes a while to make itself present. Lasts a bit longer, too since it does not evaporate so quickly.

Most recalculate as you drive. I really don't care what it says when its full, 3/4, or half. I only start watching it at 1/4. I closely watch it at 1/8. When the "low fuel" light comes on at 50 miles to go, I gas up. Works perfect for me.
