    LM Ceratec

I've actually been looking into trying it out in my differentials after reading up on it. Perhaps it would be more useful in this application, considering the temperature extremes.

    Valvoline Restore & Protect

Apologies, should have clarified; I meant European specifications for European applications, not the European market. All the ones I've seen so far meet API and ILSAC specifications.

    Valvoline Restore & Protect

Not to go off topic, but I've been looking to see if there are European variants of R&P and have not seen one. Am I missing something?

    LM Ceratec

Essentially a to each, their own situation here. I'm running Mobil 1 FS 0W-40 across the fleet and the Mitsubishi 6G72 is my highest revving engine due to the 4.90:1 rear axle ratio. Although the engine was freshly rebuilt from the ground up two years ago, I decided to add a bottle of Ceratec...

BMW LL04 and LL12FE in Australia with high sulphur content in fuel?

Based on my experiences with high sulfur, if you are confined to using Low SAPS oils, your absolute best bet will be to reduce your drain intervals to 5,000 km.

Best gearbox oil for automated manual transmission

If it calls for Dexron III, I would use TES-295 fluid. If you have access to Liqui Moly products, you could use their Top Tec ATF 1200 with the orange label.

    Current thoughts on GM OLM?

I can only wish I could go that long on an air filter here! Back in CA or FL, that may be easier to do; but out here, there's just no way. The Fram Tough Guards with that light mist of oil on them actually perform really well over here though.

    Current thoughts on GM OLM?

We may have to agree to disagree on that one. Air filter after 2,160 miles in service

    Current thoughts on GM OLM?

Lake Speed Jr. has spoken quite highly of the GM OLM. Personally, I use it in my GM application but with a twist; when oil life hits 50%, I drain and refill the sump with fresh oil and replace the air filter. When oil life gets down to 1%, I change the oil, oil filter and the air filter. It...

    Mobil 1 ESP 5W-30 for JLR 2.0L

Thank you for all the input! To clarify, the engine runs on Euro V gasoline, which has a sulfur content of 10 ppm. Not looking to extend drain intervals anywhere near 10,000 km (6,250 miles); if anything it'll be 8,000 km (5,000 miles) max if not 5,000 km (3,000 miles) initially to clean some...

    Mobil 1 ESP 5W-30 for JLR 2.0L

The vehicle in question is a '19 Jaguar XF with the 2.0L turbo Ingenium engine. The owner's manual calls for either STJLR.03.5006 or STJLR.51.5122, both of which are a 0W-20 viscosity. Only problem is, Castrol is the one of two suppliers of an oil meeting either specification and the products...

Mobil 1 FS 0W40 API SP

@CivicFK2TypeR - mind if I ask what the country of origin was? Was it France by any chance? :)

    Smokey and the Bandit

The highlight of this movie has got to be Jackie Gleason's character; at least for me. :ROFLMAO:

Liquimoly Motor Oil Saver initial treatment question

No problem at all letting it sit between drives, even for an extended period. It'll last as long as your oil change. Bear in mind, however, whether or not it will be effective depends entirely on the seal material. Motor Oil Saver contains esters and it works great with something like nitrile...

I always use T-bolt clamps with silicone hoses.

2000 Camry - Front and rear wheels bearings needed. SKF still good?

I cannot comment on other applications, but my experience with SKF wheel bearings has been iffy. The factory SKF-sourced, U.S. made bearings on my Grand Marquis lasted 17 years and 338,068 km (211,293 miles) and both were replaced in January 2019. Naturally, I opted to go with Motorcraft...

X to compete with YouTube for video watching consumers

Can't read the article without a subscription, but I'd say about time!! Way too much streaming media not to be integrated into a smart TV.

Need Guidance re (hopefully) Non-Synthetic Motor Oil for a '99 Camry L4 (5SFE) Sludge-Prone Engine

Back when I had my 5S-FE over a decade ago, I ran M1 0W-40. When the time came to do valve cover gaskets, the cylinder head was absolutely spotless. Personally, I'd change the PCV valve, skip the conventional and use either M1 FS 0W-40 or Amsoil SS 0W-40, which appears to have a good bit of...
