Self propelled mower. Gas or electric?

Bring them inside. They'll heat up that log home real quick ;). Kidding, kidding. Don't get all triggered you electric heads 😁. Good choice on the EGo for going battery powered IMHO. I have looked at these for the last 5 years IF I had to replace the HRX. This year at the beginning of mowing...

Ruger RXM. 250 rounds. First impressions

My apologies, the Holosun 407 (and most other pistol optics) that I'm using has an RMR "footprint". I was thinking too fast when I said RMSc, because the RXM will direct fit the RMSc, RMR, and Delta Point sights without adapter plates. Also, the included steel sights are a bit taller, to allow a...

Ruger RXM. 250 rounds. First impressions

Well, if you want to compare apples to apples, I can get a Gen 3 G19 on Blue Label for ~$400. But there are no provisions to mount an optic unless I get the slide milled with the cutout/drilled/tapped. A Gen 5 G19 with the MOS slide would be ~$475 Blue label. I paid $400 for the RXM and the...

Self propelled mower. Gas or electric?

Get gas, and get the Honda. It will probably outlast you and your wife (no offense) and run like a fine watch doing it. The gas will ensure that the self propelled feature on the hilly terrain will keep going (well, until it runs out of fuel). Unlike the battery that will be seriously taxed with...

Should I regrease inner tripod CV joint after a clamp leak?

You probably didn't lose much grease, it's not under any pressure, so just centrifugal force slung the grease out. Sounds like you just slapped on a new clamp and didn't pull the boot back to inspect the joint for sufficient grease. Maybe you should just go ahead and replace the boot and make...

Mower Safety while cleaning mower deck

As mentioned so many times, the chance of an accidental start, or even a blade kick are very small with my mower (Honda). At least 3 redundant systems would have to engage before the engine fires or the blades will move. HOWEVER, I value my appendages and it only takes a second to pull the plug...

Rockauto Discount code valid to July 18, 2025

Been getting parts from RA for at least as long as OP has, maybe longer. Will be looking around a bit more after recent issue with an alternator purchase. Bought a reman Denso for a Camry and it had 1 year warranty. 1 year and 13 days it soiled the bed. Called RA to see if they could "good...

    Aged Spares, Options?

I use the compact spares, but they come out of the trunk at least once a year and get a condition check along with a 303 wipe down. All have auxiliary hoses attached that allow me to check the pressure without taking them out of the trunk too, super convenient. Just added DIY mobility "kits" to...

    Mobil 1 ESP 5w-30 or Mobil 1 ESP 0w-30 | 3.5 EcoBoost

Definately the 0W-30. No, wait, maybe do the 5W-30. But the 0W-30 is better. 5W-30 is more "standard". Yeah, go with that. But 0W-30 is more "modern" spec. Yes, shiny and new. THATS your oil. The 5W-30 has been around a lot longer and is proven. Changed my mind, go with this. Maybe the...

Is LIQUI MOLY overkill for an E36 "M3"?

Vibration under braking fixed with new rotors but coming back

Turning, or resurfacing, or "skimming" rotors will get rid of uneven pad material deposits which can cause brake judder. But unless you change something you do, they will probably return. Soft pads are notorious for this and Ferodos in my experience have been very soft. Couple that with harder...

Would you buy a new Mitsubishi?

Have you driven one yet? What do YOU like? The warranty seems solid and I see a lot of them on the road. For that money, I'd get one (if I liked what it has and how it drives).

Vibration under braking fixed with new rotors but coming back

Fix your suspension components. They may contribute to braking issue, but likely not. They DO contribute to poor handling response you describe and could be unsafe. Check runout and mating surfaces as @demarpaint describes to eliminate unevenness. I suspect the rotors and pads could be the issue...

    Forum clean language rules

@goblin, you can wonder until the end of time where/why the language limits exist, or came from. Some are obvious and make sense, others keep you scratching your head. Bottom line is they are here and most appreciate the atmosphere created by a "clean" environment. Just use the preview feature...

    New firearm day! Taurus TX22

Hope it all works out. With the popularity of pistol red (or green) dot optics these days, it seems everyone is making one. Including cheap, knockoff types (NOT saying this about Veridian) so you really need to be careful and read up on the one you may purchase and take reviews with a grain of...

Reuse oil that has 500 miles on it, safe?

Why? It is less than a week old oil from the same engine it will go back in for around a 5 week OCI. If it was super cheap oil, then yeah, it can go in the lawn mower. But if it was really decent oil, why not re-use it?
