    Continental Terraincontact H/T 285/45R-22, 500km review

We just ordered a set of the TerrainContact H/T for our 2014 Grand Cherokee. They will replace a set of Michelin Defender LTX M/S. The Michelins have had terrific traction and remained quiet; however, they are starting to have small cracks in the sidewalls and get low on tread. We would have...

    Tires Roaring

Are you sure it's the tires and not something like a failed wheel bearing?

Do I have Bad Struts/Shock Absorber?

I would also consider that the Camry is an SE, which is the sportier version of the Camry. I'm sure that new shocks and struts would make some difference; however, those Sonatas were floaty even when they were new. What kind of tires do you have on your Sonata? If you wanted to make the Sonata...

Continental True Contact Tour : Any users present or past ?

I put a set on a family members Toyota Sienna. While I don't drive the vehicle a lot, I immediately noticed an improvement over the prior Uniroyal Tiger Paws. Ride, steering feel, and noise were improved. Wear seems to be good but they haven't even been rotated due to such low miles.

Small rant on ignorant drivers and auto manufacturers.

It's not a GM problem. I'm saying it's a people problem. A person actively has to turn off the auto lights every time they start the car.

Small rant on ignorant drivers and auto manufacturers.

This always grinds my gears as well. Especially on say a GM car, where every time you start the car it turns the automatic headlights off. I see people that drive GM vehicles that turn the automatic lights off and drive around with no lights on when lights are required. Even with the backlit...

Ran through tires awfully fast - brand/model suggestion?

There shouldn't be any safety concerns as long as you don't exceed the maximum PSI listed on the tire sidewall. I typically stick with the manufacturer recommendation, but the Sienna's are very close to hitting the max load allowed by 35 PSI without much weight in them.

Ran through tires awfully fast - brand/model suggestion?

Look at Discount Tire, they make good on the warranty as another poster eluded to. SUV tires will certainly last longer on a vehicle like the Sienna. There are two Siennas in my family (both Gen 3). The Continental TrueContact Tour on the one van seems to be doing well. They are very quite and...

    TPMS Sensor Replacement Cost

Be weary of fake ACDelco TPMS sensors on Amazon. I bought a set of 4 for 60 dollars and I got 1 year out of them before 2 batteries went bad. When I looked back at my purchase history they no longer showed ACDelco. Rockauto is a great place to get them. Discount tire will usually replace them...

    Brake pedal sinking Toyota Sienna

I noticed our 2018 Sienna pedal felt soft when the rear pads were seized in the caliper bracket. I had to beat the pads out with a hammer because they wouldn't slide. To fix it, I took the caliper bracket to my bench grinder and ground away all the rust until it was smooth. I would check to make...

One Piece Lugnut for FCA Vehicles

I've used these DP Accessories solid ones with success on my GM vehicles. I actually just bought a set for our Grand Cherokee. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JNL5XQS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Yokohama ADVAN Sport A/S+ 245/50-18 100W Ultra High Performance All-Season Tire

I have Continental PureContact LS on my Regal wagon. They are quite and smooth, with pretty good traction all around. They are wearing pretty well too with pretty good handling. I suspect they may actually last the warranty. My stock tires were Continental ProContact TX and these were a big...

    FCS struts from Rock Auto?

I used them once on an old Grand Am. The springs were ridiculously off from the OEM springs. It looked like the car had a lift kit on it. They were made in China. If you are planning to keep this vehicle, I would avoid them unless you want to do the job more than once. If you are selling it...

    Tires for 2016 Lexus RX350

Thanks for the tip! I will be sure to try that. I have noticed the Michelin Latitude xi2 winter tires have worn much better than the RT43s. I just assumed it is because the Latitudes are meant for SUVs/Crossovers. I usually rotate them every 3000 miles since that's about what the winter/all...

    Tires for 2016 Lexus RX350

I'd your RX350 wears tires anything like our Sienna (same platform), I would stay away from the RT43s. While the RT43 is a great tire, the outside edges of the tread are being eaten alive by our Sienna. I suspect we will have to replace the RT43s long before they wear out for this reason. I...

2007 Dodge Grand Caravan - trailer hitch recommendations?

I would recommend a hidden hitch if possible. E-trailer has a wealth of useful info for picking a hitch. They show pictures of the hitches installed on the vehicle. When my family had our old 2003 Chrysler minivan the hidden hitch was a lifesaver because it would have frequently bottomed out...

Another reason to dislike the Honda 1.5T

My 2014 Cruze was like this. I could drive for 15 minutes until I got heat. Once I got heat it was great, it just took forever to get there. If you turned the fan on full blast you could watch the temperature gauge drop.

    T6 Rotella 0w 40 in a 2017 Chevy Cruze gas 1.4 L turbo?

Keep in mind that one of the issues with that type of motor is LSPI. GM identified calcium in the oil being a problem, hence the Dexos 1 gen 2 specification. I'm not sure what Rotella looks like spec wise, but I would be Leary of any high calcium oils based on that.

    2009 Malibu Headlight

Can confirm, you have to take the front bumper off. The above video is an acceptable method, but it's a lot easier just to take the entire bumper off. The headlight has a locater tab that IMO is a royal PITA to get back in place without breaking it. On my family members 2010 Malibu I just took...

    Long lasting snow tires

I have 6 winters on a set of General Altimax Artic on one car. They still have about 7/32nds of tread (new was 12/32nds). I suspect they will need replaced due to age before they wear out. On 2 other cars I have Continental VikingContacts. Both are still at 9/3nds of tread (10/32nds new) after 2...
